What's next for BTB Forum?

With this new found 'revival' now getting well underway, some changes are going to be made to the forum. However, I think the thing that screwed the forum over to cause that dead span of months was rushing into too many things, too fast. So we're just gonna take it one step at a time as we try to get this forum going.

Here is a list of all changes that are projected for the future - some to happen a lot sooner than others, but that's alright.

1) Be the Booker Battles
This is a separate forum made just for those wanting to do a 'BTBB' (Be the Booker Battle). It's kind of like freestyle Be the Booker, where you issue a challenge to say write a match from your favourite WWE PPV of 2007, and then give say 2 weeks for the participants to get the match in. Then, the forum votes on their favourite match, and the winner gets ... err, bragging rights? I dunno, we'll have to sort it all out first, but the idea kinda intruiged me. Maybe we could keep a record thread for everybody's record? Also, it doesn't have to be matches, it can be a promo or something. This is mainly for those who don't have the motivation to get a thread going, but still want to keep themselves writing for BTB.

2) Graphics Section
The whole presentation of a BTB is actually a lot more important to some than you may think, which is why you can expect a graphics section to open up not far from now. However, this section will only be used for requesting BTB-related graphics only.

3) Awards
We already have an awards section, it's just not going to be heavily run until we get some more activity going on. Right now there's a poll going on thanks to Y2J if you wish to post when you want the awards to happen (I would prefer Awards every 3 months) so check it out when you get the chance. It'll be nice to acknowledge those who put in a lot of dedication for Be the Booker.

4) Forum Appearance
I don't know about the appearance. If people are looking for a change, just say the word. I wish everything would be a little bigger, but I don't know how to do that, or if it's even possible.

5) Inactivity
I have the power to send out a Newsletter to all those who are inactive, letting them know that the forum is being revived and to check it out when they get the chance. Most of our members are inactive, but I'd really like to see this to change. With that said, try to recruit as many people as you can.

6) 'Off-Screen News'
This is basically a Be the Booker Newsletter that will be sent out about every 6-8 weeks to keep everybody updated on what's going on around the site, as well as hot threads, new ideas happening, and all that sort of thing. I kind of like the idea, we could even get Newsletter writers~!

7) Tournaments
I know many people are in favour of having Tournaments, whether they are promo, match, or team tournaments. This goes back to #5 - We need more people who would be dedicated and would stick through the whole tournament, not causing it to fold. However, it is a possibility in the future, don't count it out.

8 ) Blogging
Blogging is something that I kinda fine BTB-ish. After all, it could be a blog about how you write shows, how it's coming, and that kinda stuff. Or you could just blog about your everyday life - It's up to you! Blogging brings some emotion to the forum, tbh.

That's more than enough for now, don't ya think? Post in here on what you think about the ideas. Also, I'm looking for 1 or 2 more Moderators, as Y2J can't Mod every forum by himself, even if there's not much going on in the forums. But don't worry, I'm sure I'll be able to pick out Mods easily without a bunch of hands being raised Wink

Nice work there Hoop in updating us with the updates. I will tell everyone now not to advertise on the forum that me and Hoop are apart of, as you will get banned in an instant. I am excited about the BTBB in particular, but I don't think that you should make it into another forum. I think that the forum appearance could be changed, not sure exactly what to do with it but I do think that it should be changed :S. I will run the Tounaments if you want me to once there is more activity, just give hit me up with a PM Wink

To any GFXers on the site I think that BTB Forum could use a nice banner!

I like the idea of BTBB and as for recruiting I am in the process of asking the admins at the forum I am mainly at if I am allowed to advertise, and so far it looks like a yes.

The Newsletter seems good, but is not needed yet imo.

I would be willing to make a Banner. Just say the specifications and I would be on it in a jiffy.

^ With that theme, idk, it's alright but I didn't have a problem with the current one to begin with.

I actually like the current one over that one tbh. Maybe you should keep this but change the banner a little bit, but that is just my opinion. IDK :s.

Yeah, that default banner just BLOWS.

The new banner will probably just have lots of wrestling on it.

^ What he said. This place could really do with a GFX Section, expand the variety more and it'll attract more members I feel.
