WWE 2008: Decisive Action

This BTB starts just before Royal Rumble 2008, Vince McMahon has finally realized the threat of TNA. their buyrates on their PPVs are rising so does their ratings. while his shows' ratings are on the slums. although merchandise sales are high. McMahon said that if he let TNA rise more. What's the point of even selling merchandise if they are not properly advertised. being the money minded person Vince is. He decided to take a swift and decisive action...

Vince McMahon issued a ultimatum to the creative team of all shows. if they didn't turn the ratings around before Wrestlemania. They are all fired, Stephanie McMahon is now demoted from the Head of the Creative Department to just a member of the Creative Team. replacing her is a unknown script writer from Los Angeles, California. Darren Ferlindo. This is to clear any biases from the decisions of the creative team. but a revamp on the creative team is only the first step of the Decisive Action of Vince McMahon...

ROYAL RUMBLE 2008 QUICK RESULTS

Career Threatening Match
(Should Ric Flair lose, He must Retire)
Ric Flair def. MVP via Submission @ 07:49

At the start of the match, Flair started out working on MVP's left arm. Flair attempted to get the Figure-Four Leg lock on MVP, but MVP turned it into a small package for a two count. MVP knocked out Flair with a Running Big Boot in the corner and went for a pin, but Flair managed to get his foot on the rope just in time when the referee Charles Robinson counted to three. After the three count, the referee did not call for the bell as he had noticed Flair's leg on the bottom-rope and restarted the match. The match ended when MVP tried going for the Playmaker, but Flair countered the attempt into the Figure-Four Leg Lock, to which MVP eventually tapped out. Hence, Flair won and kept his career alive

Grudge Match
John Bradshaw Layfield def. Chris Jericho via DQ @ 09:24

The match began with Jericho trapping Layfield in the Walls of Jericho. However, JBL got to the ropes and slid out of the ring with Jericho quickly following him. JBL strangled Jericho with the ring ropes and later, plunged him onto the ropes. Jericho recovered and clotheslined JBL out of the ring. When they got in again, JBL threw Jericho into the ring post, as a result of which, Jericho was busted open. JBL tried to take advantage of this situation, but Jericho still fought back. The fight went outside the ring, where JBL began clearing the ECW announce table. But Jericho grabbed a steel chair and hit Layfield with it. The referee immediately disqualified Jericho. But Jericho ignored the fact that he had lost the match and started to strangle JBL with some wires by the ring.

World Heavyweight Championship
Edge(c) def. Rey Mysterio via Pinfall @ 12:34

Rey used his quickness and agility to outmaneuver Edge. but throughout the match. Edge dominated Rey. Hawkins and Ryder would distract Rey. the referee then ejected Hawkins and Ryder from ringside. Vickie Guerrero then comes down to help Edge. Rey hits the 619 on Edge. but before Rey could hit the West Coast Pop to Edge. Vickie held Rey's leg. Rey had enough and kicked Vickie. Rey then goes for the West Coast Pop. Edge however recovered and then speared Rey mid-air! He immediately covered Rey for the win. thus retaining his title.

WWE Championship
Randy Orton(c) def. Jeff Hardy via Pinfall @ 14:06

Early in the match, Hardy performed a Baseball Slide on Orton who hit head-first into the barricade outside due to the impact. Knowing he couldn't win the WWE Championship via a count-out victory, Hardy brought the knocked-out Orton into the ring. Later, Orton took advantage in the match, as he applied a Body Scissors on Hardy, followed by a choke-hold. Some of the other main highlights of the match were Hardy performing a Whisper in the Wind on Orton that hit him on the head; and, later hitting a Moonsault from the top-rope to Orton outside the ring. When Hardy brought Orton back in the ring and tried to deliver a Twist of Fate, Orton suddenly reversed it into an RKO and pinned Hardy to retain his WWE title.

The Royal Rumble Match
(Winner gets shot at their chosen championship)
Mr. Kennedy last eliminated The Rock to win the Royal Rumble Match @ 57:33

The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels started the match. Michael Buffer would be the special ring announcer for the Royal Rumble. a highlight of the night would happen when Shawn Michaels would do his DX routine with Michael Buffer. Taker and Shawn would remain in the match for over 30 minutes. Shawn would eliminate the Undertaker. before being eliminated by Mr. Kennedy, Legends would also participate on the Royal Rumble, like Jimmy "The Superfly" Snuka, "Hot Rod" Roddy Piper, and "The Hardcore Legend" Mick Foley, The three legends would make it 6 minutes after being eliminated by #23 entrant Kane, perhaps the biggest shock of the night is the return of unannounced competitors on the match. John Cena returned much to the awe of the crowd as the #29th entrant. the action stopped in the ring as the superstars are in complete shock. Cena would go on to eliminate 7 entrants. like Mark Henry, Big Daddy V, Chavo Guerrero, Matt Striker, CM Punk, Carlito, and The Miz. Triple H, Mr. Kennedy and John Cena would have a staredown on the middle. Cena each giving them a "You Can't See Me" taunt with a huge mixed reaction with only the girls and little kids cheering Cena, kennedy would then give them a "Kennedy!" shout with mixed reactions. Triple H would then give Cena and Kennedy a crotch chop with a huge pop. they then brawl on each other with Cena getting the better of both of them. They would go on to brawl trying to eliminate each other. after several minutes. the biggest shock of Rumble would be revealed. The #30th entrant... THE ROCK!. the crowd explodes with the biggest pop of the night and perhaps of the year!. Triple H, John Cena and Kennedy then looked in surprise at The Rock!. Rock then rushes to the ring and delivers rights to Cena, Triple H and Kennedy, He then proceded to punch Kennedy to the ropes. Kennedy then went through the second rope. thus not eliminating him. Triple H, Cena and Rock would brawl in the ring. trying to eliminate each other. The Rock then hits Triple H with a Rock Bottom. Cena charges to the Rock. but Rock delivers a Spinebuster to Cena!. The Rock then prepares for the most electrifying move in Sports Entertainment... The People's Elbow!... and hits it to Cena! Rock then goes on to eliminate Cena by countering an attempt by Cena to FU Rock to outside. Triple H is eliminated simulatenously because of Rock dodging an attempted clothesline. sending him to the floor. THe Rock thought he won the ROyal Rumble... but Mr. Kennedy is not yet eliminated and took advantage of the unsuspecting Rock and threw him outside to the floor. much to the jeers of the crowd, thus winning the Royal Rumble Match

Booker Notes: There you have it, my Current WWE BTB. Though i said it starts just after the Rumble. I would skip all the way up to Wrestlemania. I will give the buildups of the storylines. Well all the results were exactly the same except the Royal Rumble. Now after seeing this I predict The Rock will be a regular in your BTB, which I dont like, as he doesn't really fit. Kennedy winning the rumble im not really a fan of either as I think hes overrated but as a heel he could be alright.

I remember you as a good BTBer and you have hopefully improved since then. I will check out this BTB from now.

To be honest it looks good but there must be a reason behind the push of Mr. Kennedy, it is just too fast. Kennedy hadn't even held a mid card title on Raw and suddenly an RR win. I personally don't like it, pushing way to fast. Build it up slowly. Or Otherwise It will fail like Lashly's or Lesnar's to be honest. But hopefuly you will prove me wrong. Ill keep an eye out for this.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Really appreciated it. Your concerns about the mega-push of Kennedy and The Rock's return is very reasonable. It has met with heavy criticisms too on other forums. but i think you will enjoy what will i do to them in my BTB. Smile

Randy Orton(c) vs, John Cena

- After months of rehabilitation from the injuries caused by Orton. John Cena returned at the RUmble as the #29th entrant
Cena looked invincible and better than ever, grabbing the most eliminations that night. Though he's return has been spoiled
by another returning superstar, The Rock. The next night, RAW's Final Three in the Rumble competed in a Triple Threat Number
One Contender's match, Which featured John Cena, Triple H, and The Rock. All three men gave it all they have got.. but it was
an FU to Triple H that sealed his date with the Legend Killer at No Way Out.

The next week, Cena and Orton would then compete in a Pick Your Poison Match. and with the quickest win time will have the
privilege to pick the stipulation for their match at No Way Out. Cena first competed with Randy's choice of opponent for him.
It was the World Strongest Man, Mark Henry. after being dominated almost all the way. Cena found it in him to FU Henry and
lock him in a STFU, Henry tapped in 04:57, the time to beat. Orton would compete next. and he found out that it would be
Jeff Hardy. A rematch from the Rumble. but Orton proved to be very vicious with his RKO. When it looks like Hardy is gonna
beat the time. Orton hits him with a lightning RKO, pinning Hardy at 04:55, earning him the privelege of picking the stipulation,
Which is, a Last Man Standing Match. the same match Orton won the title.

At their contract signing. Cena said that six months of pain and suffering will all rain down on Orton, Orton retalliates
saying Cena will just be like all the others that tried to bring down the Age of Orton, motionless, title-less, and perhaps
Careerless, after a lengthy verbal spar, it exploded when Orton hits Cena with a mic, he then attempted to punt Cena's head
but Cena was able to lift him up for a FU. Orton escapes to the ramp. Cena taunts Orton and signals his time is now.

World Heavyweight Championship
Triple Threat Match
Edge(c) vs. Batista vs. The Undertaker
Special Guest Referee: Mr. Kennedy

- At the Rumble, Edge retained his title from Mysterio. But his win over there is controversial. especially with the involvement
of his associates and Smackdown GM Vickie GUerrero. The Ultimate Opportunist gets away again. At the Smackdown after the Rumble.
Vickie Guerrero announced a tournament to name the number one contender for the WHC at No Way Out. 6 Superstars battled it out
throughout that night. in the end, The Undertaker and Batista steamrolled through their opponents and met at the finals.
The two rivals battled it out. each competitor refuses to give. The match ended in controversial fashion when Batista tapped out.
exactly the same time as The Undertaker been pinned.

The next week. Stephanie McMahon is at Smackdown to 'observe' Vickie's performance as a GM. per orders of the Board of Directors
after numerous complaints by the Superstars. Edge is then warned by Stephanie to 'not influence Vickie's decisions or else'. That
night. Edge's guest is the 2008 Royal Rumble Winner Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy displayed no fear from Edge. a verbal spar occured between
the two. Vickie then came out with Stephanie and announced that at No Way Out. It will be a Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight
Championship between The Undertaker, Batista, and Edge. Kennedy mocked the Rated R Superstar. This angered Edge and speared Kennedy.

At the last week before No Way Out. Vickie Guerrero scheduled a Tag Team Match for the main event, it would be Undertaker and Batista vs.
Edge and Chavo Guerrero. Edge was furious with Vickie's decision. That night. The match took place and resulted in a Double DQ when both
The Undertaker and Edge used steel chairs. A brawl would then take place between the three participants for the Triple Threat Match. Stephanie
then came out and announced that next week. She would deliver the report on Vickie's performance and if she would keep her job. also she announced
that a normal official wouldn't have control over the World Heavyweight Championship Match. She then named Mr. Kennedy to be the Special Guest
Referee at No Way Out.

ECW Championship
Extreme Rules
Chavo Guerrero(c) vs. RVD

- Chavo Guerrero's reign as ECW Champion is shrouded with controversy because of the way he won and defends it. utilizing
La Familia and dirty antics to barely hold on the gold. But on the January 22nd episode of ECW. The Land of Extreme was shock
for the return of ECW Original Rob Van Dam as a surprise entrant on a Extreme Battle Royal Contenders Match and went on to win
it. Guerrero may have met the man who may dethrone him.

The next week. RVD was scheduled in a match with The Miz. Guerrero would then be at ringside as the Special Guest Commentator.
Rob Van Dam would defeat The Miz, but Guerrero took advantage of the situation and tried to blindside his challenger. but lucky
for RVD. fellow ECW Original Tommy Dreamer went to his aid. sending the ECW Champion retreating to the ramp.

On the last episode of ECW before No Way Out. Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer teamed up against Chavo Guerrero and his new bodyguard
Bam Neely. a former border guard and a force to be reckoned with. the match ended in a DQ win in favor of the Originals after Guerrero
introduced a steel chair into the match and brutalized the Originals. The final scene was Guerrero holding up his title over the body
of his opponent come No Way Out.

Elimination Chamber
(Winner gets shot at the WWE Championship on Wrestlemania XXIV)
The Rock vs. Triple H vs, Shawn Michaels vs. CHris Jericho vs. JBL vs. Jeff Hardy

- As a result of an Smackdown Superstar winning the Rumble, RAW has been left without a challenger for the WWE Championship
at Wrestlemania XXIV. Many superstars tried to clinch the spot by saying they are the best, or sucking up to RAW GM William
Regal. but on the night after the Rumble, Regal announced that the challenger will be decided in an Elimination Chamber Match.

The Rock returned to the WWE on the Royal Rumble, looking to make an impact again in the WWE by winning the Rumble and go to
the Main event once again at Wrestlemania. but he's plan was derailed by Mr. Kennedy, the next night. He declared there were no
credible contenders for the WWE Championship and that he should be going to the main event. but Cena and HHH beg to differ
and at that same night, the three clashed for the number one contendership in which Cena won. Triple H and Rock goes to the
Elimination Chamber.

Chris Jericho then pleaded his case. He said that if not for JBL interfering at No Way Out. He may be the WWE Champion,
Michaels also believed that if his Sweet Chin Music weren't banned on his match with Randy Orton. He may also be the WWE Champion.
Regal then made them competitors for the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out.

JBL and Jeff Hardy then qualifies for the match by beating their respective opponents. Then all hell broke loose when JBL
came out and guaranteed his victory at No Way Out, a announcement that did not sit well with the other competitors. Chris Jericho
came out and attacked his rival. In a matter of seconds. All of the participants for the Elimination Chamber is out beating
the hell out of each other. with the final shot of Triple H and Shawn Michaels staring each other.

Career Threatening Match
(Should Ric Flair lose, He must retire)
Ric Flair vs. Kenny Dykstra

- After beating MVP at the Rumble. Flair was congratulated by a number of Smackdown superstars. but not the brash and cocky
Kenny Dykstra. Who immediately disrespected the Nature Boy by saying his win over MVP was a fluke. Flair responded by slapping
the cocky superstar. later that night. Flair was in a rematch with MVP, When it looks like Flair has it won. Dykstra interfered
and assaulted the 16 Time World Champion. leaving him down in the middle of the ring.

For the following weeks, Flair and Dykstra would exchange beatdowns after beatdowns and verbal curses with each other. until
Stephanie McMahon made a match between them at No Way Out.

World/WWE Tag Team Championship Unification
Tag Team Unification Match
Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly(c) vs. Miz and Morrison(c)

- After numerous insults by Miz and Morrison at their WWE,com Original "The Dirt Sheet". Rhodes and Holly retalliated on
the February 5th edition of ECW. and challenged them into a match at No Way Out. Miz and Morrison accepts and further mocked
the World Tag Team Champions.

On RAW. Rhodes and Holly just won from a Tag Team Match with the Highlanders, then out of nowhere. Miz and Morrison blinsides
then and delivered a beatdown on Rhodes and Holly. the next night at ECW. They invaded ECW and got a taste of revenge on
The Miz. Morrison then said that the WWE hasn't got enough room for two tag team Champions and challenged them to a unification
match at No Way Out, in which Rhodes and Holly enthusiatically accepted.

Vince McMahon confronts the Mystery Man

- After weeks of terrorizing the WWE, The Chairman, and it's superstars from a distance. The Mystery Man behind all of this
will finally reveal himself on No Way Out. With the whole world watching who is the man who challenged McMahon's Empire,

The Mystery Man has attacked Hornswoggle and his protector Finlay backstage while Mr. McMahon was making a major announcement
regarding the WWE Championship. At that same time, threatened the Chairman's family back in Stamford, CT. The next night at
ECW. Mr. McMahon made an appearance and stated that he will hunt the man behind all of this. at that very moment. the lights
went out and the mystery man's voice echoed throughout that arena, saying the WWE will have NO WAY OUT. then explosions rocked
the ECW HD Set. burning it to the ground.

The following weeks, McMahon never showed up on either RAW, ECW or Smackdown. but the presence of the Mystery Man is still
being felt. with superstars being laid out in the back. constant warnings on the HD Titantron. or even interupting matches and
World Heavyweight Champion Edge. but on the RAW before No Way Out. McMahon made an surprise appearance. and challenged the
Mystery Man at No Way Out to show himself. in which the Mystery Man agreed. but he will not be alone, and will bring the guys
who will be responsible for the New Order in the WWE.

- Cena won the match when Orton couldn't answer the count after Cena delivered an FU from the stage down to a set
of tables. after the match, Both Orton and Cena has been carried out in a stretcher after both lost critical amounts
of blood.

Edge def. Batista and the Undertaker (Still Champion)

- Edge won after La Familia seperated the Undertaker from Batista who was about to pin him after he hits him with
the Tombstone Piledriver. Edge made the cover and retained his championship despite being beaten the whole match.
after the match. Mr. Kennedy hits Edge with a Mic Check before running off. signalling he wants the championship.

ECW Championship
Extreme Rules
RVD def. Chavo Guerrero(c) (New ECW Champion)

- RVD defeated the "Mexican Warrior" Chavo Guerrero after a Five Star Frog Splash on top of a ladder. During the match, the newly hired bodyguard of Guerrero, Bam Neely. Made his presence felt by hitting RVD with a steel chair. RVD miraculously recovered and made Neely pay by hitting him with a steel
chair too.

Elimination Chamber
(Winner goes to the Main Event at Wrestlemania)
The Rock def. Triple H, Jeff Hardy, JBL, Shawn Michaels, and Chris Jericho

- Rock won his first Elimination Chamber match after hitting Triple H with a Rock Bottom to the steel railings outside
the ring. After the match. A stareoff ensued between HHH and Rock. before HHH offers his hand to the Rock and raised his
hand. showing mutual respect to the Great One.

Order of Elimination:

1st: JBL by Chris Jericho after a Sweet Chin Music and a Lionsault.
2nd: Chris Jericho by Triple H after being thrown to the fiber glass and a Pedigree on the steel railings.
3rd: Shawn Michaels by Jeff Hardy after a Swanton Bomb from the top of the podium.
4th: Jeff Hardy by The Rock after a People's Elbow
5th: Triple H by The Rock after a Rock Bottom to the steel railings

match. Flair offered Dykstra his hand. but the young superstar declined and said "Your time will be up, old man"

World/WWE Tag Team Championship Unification
Tag Team Match
Miz and Morrison def. Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly (New Champions)

- Miz and Morrison clinched their claim as the most dominant tag team today when they won the Undisputed Tag
Team Championship by defeating their adversaries by pinfall after the Mark of Infamy. After the match. Rhodes delivered
a beating upon Holly. bloodying his old friend and mentor.

Eric Bischoff was revealed to be the Mystery Man
nWo returns along with Bischoff

- Perhaps no one has been more surprised than Mr. McMahon. his old nemesis returned and revealed to be the Mystery Man
who has been terorrizing the WWE Locker Room and Mr. McMahon himself. Bischoff then brought along with him Kevin Nash,
The Big Show, and 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan. The nWo. who has been responsible for the destruction of the ECw set
and attacks against WWE superstars. Bischoff said it will be the dawning of a new age on the WWE. and the man who
will lead that age will be him and the nWo. McMahon retalliated by saying they have no chance in hell.

Holy Shit! I was right with my nWo prediction!

Cena vs Rock is OK, but I'd rather it have not been for the title as if Rock wins I will be ever so pissed. Orton vs HBK would have been a better choice.

Flair vs Dykstra shouldn't continue on as Flair should have a big match for Wrestlemania.

I also don't know why Kennedy wouldn't just refuse to count Edge in the match, if he hates him so much.

Miz and Morrison winning was the right choice, as was the Cody heel turn.

John Cena(c) vs. The Rock

- In Wrestlemania 24. A match that seem impossible. has now become a reality, After much tension from both sides, The Rock
will challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship at the biggest stage of them all. Wrestlemania 24.

John Cena's comeback story has come full circle when he won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton at No Way Out in a brutal
Last Man Standing Match in which he injured Randy Orton. At that same night, The Rock has outlasted Six Men in his first ever
Elimination Chamber Match to once again compete at the Grandaddy of them all for the WWE Championship. a prelude of the dream
match.

The Rock said that he respects John Cena's love and determination for the company and the business. but when John Cena decided
to 'shoot' on him at a recent Radio Interview. Their title match has become personal. Cena retaliated by saying he also respects
Rock's contribution on the WWE and his accomplishments. but the way he walked out on the WWE for Hollywood. it's "unforgivable" and
Rock let a lot of his fans down. and when Rock came back. He is disgusted on Rock's nerve to just come back like that like nothing happened. After a lengthy verbal spar. A brawl broke out between the two. in which it needed 20 men to separate the two from each other

RAW GM William Regal then gave Rock and Cena control of the last two RAW's before Wrestlemania. In which they can pick the
opponent of each other. After a coin toss. Rock won and he gets to pick Cena's opponent. Rock picked the Legend Killer Randy Orton
who is believed to be injured. Orton then cashed his rematch clause and made the match for the WWE Championship. It took Cena
by surprise. but the leader of the Chain Gang Commander will never back down from a fight. after a lengthy, classic bout. Cena
reversed the punt attempt of Orton to a STFU and made the Legend Killer tap. retaining his championship.

At Saturday Night's Main Event. It was Cena's turn. He said that Rock's opponent would be someone he wouldn't expect. After much speculation from the crowd that night and interogation of Rock at the back. It was revealed that Rock opponent that night would be none other than Rock's mortal enemy.. STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN! The roof of the Gund Arena that night exploded when they heared the glass shattering entrance of the Texas Rattlesnake. Cena added the stipulation that if Rock lost to Austin. He would lose his Contender status
and it would Cena vs. Austin at Wrestlemania 24. It was an nostalgic site to see when the two future Hall of Famers graced the ring
once more. recreating their past encounters. Austin and Rock would deliver an epic match-up once again. When it would look like we will
have a new main event for Wrestlemania. Rock reversed the Stunner to a Sharpshooter. making the Rattlesnake tap out. After the match

- Weeks of bad blood, tension, and upsmanship will finally explode at the Main Event of Wrestlemania when the 2008 Royal Rumble Winner Mr. Kennedy attempts to take the World Heavyweight Championship from the Rated R Superstar, Edge.

On No Way Out. Edge barely retained his Championship from The Undertaker and Batista. A match where Kennedy is the Special Guest Referee. Many were surprised on Kennedy's willingness to count for Edge if he hates him so much. He explained that on the three participants on that Triple Threat. Edge was the weakest of them all. and it was merely a strategic decision by him. but he's hatred for the Rated R Superstar takes him last June, where he lost his Money in the Bank briefcase to the Ultimate Opportunist and sidelining him for 4 months.

Although Kennedy called Edge weak, his accomplishments told another story. a multi-time Champion, Tag Team Champion and a master of TLC. Edge also holds what Kennedy is after. The World Heavyweight Championship.

Kennedy, on the other hand. Is also a contender not to be taken lightly. He is a former US Champion. defeating 3 opponents to earn that Championship. at Wrestlemania. He's determined to reach the top of the mountain. but to do that. He must knock down the grip of the Rated R Superstar, Edge and solidify his spot in history at Wrestlemania 24

ECW Championship
Extreme Rules Match
Rob Van Dam(c) vs. Tommy Dreamer

- Betrayal, Jealousy, and lust for gold. A match-up made entirely of those three words. as ECW Originals Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer compete in a Extreme Rules Match for the ECW Championship, a match that will determine who is the better Original and the better ECW superstar.

Rob Van Dam's return to ECW has been a fairy tale story. He won the ECW Championship from Chavo Guerrero for the second time in his career. but in the shadows. Tommy Dreamer is jealous with his friend's success. In the midst of RVD's victory celebration at ECW. Dreamer made his infamous betrayal by assaulting the newly crowned ECW Champion. bloodying him and told him "Your a has-been!"

RVD then confronts Tommy for his shocking actions. RVD avoided any physicality between the two as much as possible. Tommy said that he should have been challenging Chavo for the ECW Championship at No Way Out. and if it wouldn't for RVD. He should have been ECW Champion and not RVD. but RVD said he had to beat nine other men to earn his chance at No Way Out. after a lengthy battle of words. Teddy Long informed Dreamer that he has to earn his title match. Long scheduled Dreamer in a Number One Contenders Match with Evan Bourne. and it's under Extreme Rules. Later that night. Dreamer would defeat the young superstar to earn a chance for the ECW Championship at Wrestlemania 24.

Over the course of the following weeks. Dreamer would assault RVD in the backstage or in matches. Long then grew tired of this and said that at Wrestlemania. their match will now be competed in Extreme Rules. RVD then attacked Dreamer later that night and showed him that he can fight his former friend.

Ric Flair vs. The Undertaker

- After 20 years of the illustrious career of Ric Flair. He may not have been on a match this important for his career. and with The Undertaker serving as a major roadblock on Flair's career. It's a do or die situation for the Nature Boy.

Ric Flair has been announced as the leader of the Hall of Fame Class of 2008. being the first to be announced as the first inductee for the HOF. But he then referenced that his Hall of Fame induction wouldn't be complete if he doesn't have a match at Wrestlemania 24. And he has the perfect opponent in his mind. A man that has never been defeated at Wrestlemania. and it's The Undertaker.

For the next weeks. Undertaker wouldn't give his reply for the challenge given by Ric Flair. But it was in a interview with Jonathan Coachman where The Undertaker gave his answer to Flair in a form of his chilling gong and spine-tingling voice saying at Wrestlemania. Ric Flair's career will "Rest in Peace".

Then at the last week before Wrestlemania. Flair and the Undertaker faced off for the first time. The Undertaker said he has nothing against the Nature Boy and he can still back down from total defeat. Flair then has taken offense and slapped the Undertaker and begged the Undertaker to turn off the lights, chokeslam him, or Tombstone him. The Undertaker then referenced his past 15 wins in a video montage. and the Undertaker's Wrestlemania X-8 Win over Flair played over and over again. The gong of the Undertaker sounds then the lights went out. Went the lights turns on again the Undertaker is gone and Flair has been left to watch what may be his fate again at Wrestlemania.

Battle for the WWE

No Holds Barred
Mr. McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff

- In a battle 15 years in a making. WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon will take on Eric Bischoff in a No Holds Barred Match for the control of the WWE. After months of terrorizing by Bischoff on McMahon with the help of the nWo. McMahon has now crossed the borders and put the WWE on the line as they battle for the first time.

It can be remembered that Bischoff and McMahon is no stranger to one another. On the 90's, WWE and it's old rival, WCW. which was run by Bischoff at the time. waged war in what is to be called the "Monday Night Wars". In which McMahon ultimately won when he purchased WCW. but now, the story is different. It is not gonna be won in the ratings. It will be won from the squared circle.

Bischoff has been seeking revenge for his unceremonious firing last 2006 by McMahon. throwing him to a garbage truck. Since then, Bischoff seeths within him anger for McMahon. and within the past couple of months. Bischoff has targeted the WWE and McMahon. endangering it's superstars by attacking them. interupting matches with nWo vignettes. until McMahon had enough and enlisted the help of D-Generation X to counter the nWo threat. at first, the nWo outnumbered DX 3 to 2. But Mr. McMahon's vast fortunes come to play when he brought back X-Pac to even the odds between the two teams.

Bischoff, after seeing his plan might fail. Challenged McMahon in a match at Wrestlemania XXIV. with McMahon putting the WWE on the line. McMahon accepted with the condition that if he wins. Bischoff will leave the WWE in shame forever. as both men prepare for a date with destiny.

Battle for Faction Supremacy

D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and X-Pac) vs. nWo (Kevin Nash, The Big Show, and 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan)

- Perhaps a match that a lot of people has waiting for. D-Generation X, the most influential faction in the history of Sports Entertainment. takes on the most controversial faction in the history of Sports Entertainment, the nWo. After months of gang warfare. They will wage war like never before at Wrestlemania.

D-Generation X, `One of the key players on springboarding the Attitude Era. with their don't-take-no-for-a-answer attitude. They feuded with the likes of Vince McMahon's The Corporation, The Rock's Nation of Domination, among others. Their members also held the WWE Championship, WWE Tag Team Championship and Intercontinental Championship. making them one of the most influential factions in history of the WWE.

the nWo, started with a band of outsiders in WCW with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. They began terrorizing WCW the same fashion they are terrorizing the WWE. Hulk Hogan was later to be revealed a member of the nWo. later, Their faction grew and grew in numbers and began to take over WCW from Bischoff. but in a shocking revelation. Bischoff himself was a member of the nWo and he openly admitted he is the leader of this faction at the first place. but as their faction grew. So does problems inside began to show that resulted into nWo breaking into two splinter factions. Although history between the nWo is not that smooth. They have now come to the WWE once again
to aid Bischoff in his revenge against McMahon

On SNME. D-Generation X and Mr. McMahon teamed up against nWo and Bischoff. the match was declared a no-contest when DX and nWo brawled before the match even started. But on Wrestlemania 24. There will be a winner as the match will be competed in a Street Fight.

Money in the Bank

MVP vs. Jeff Hardy vs. John Morrison vs. Chris Jericho vs. Umaga vs. Evan Bourne vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. CM Punk

- Wrestlemania has been host for the last 2 years of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Which guarantees the winner a future title shot within the next year. And when you talk about the success`rate of this Money in the Bank title matches. All of them has won it.

After a series of qualifying matches. MVP, Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho, Umaga, John Morrison, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin and CM Punk all won their respective qualifying matches to advance to the MITB match at Wrestlemania XXIV. All of them with one goal in mind. To reach that briefcase hanging up above the ring and win it big at the Granddest Stage of Them All. but that task is easier said than done. As eight men will fight over that briefcase. and with 16 foot ladders all over the place. There is no telling what mayhem will happen.

But the prize of winning the Money in the Bank is certainly worth it. with a future title shot of a championship of the winner's choosing anytime, anywhere. Which pratically can be taken advantage by the MITB holder. As what Edge did in New Year's Revolution. When he captured his first WWE Championship from John Cena who has just survived his Elimination Chamber. Or you could do it when you have the home field advantage as what RVD did when he also won his first WWE Championship from John Cena at ECW One Night Stand.

History has been on the side of the winners of prized briefcase. The only question is who is gonna win the MITB match come Wrestlemania?

- At Wrestlemania 24. Rey Mysterio will defend his Intercontinental Championship against the returning Joey Mercury on the first defense of the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania since Wrestlemania X8

After defeating Jeff Hardy, Carlito, and the Miz at a Fatal Four Way in an episode of RAW. Mysterio won the Intercontinental Championship. making him WWE's latest Triple Crown Champion. but when it was suppose to be Rey's night. The returning Joey Mercury blatantly and viciously attacked the Intercontinental Champion. leaving Rey almost lifeless in the ring. He then made it cleatly on a WWE.com interview that he wants to make an immediate impact upon returning to the WWE and that's to win the Intercontintal Championship at the Biggest Stage of them all. Wrestlemania.

Over the course of the weeks. Mysterio and Mercury would trade insults and verbal spikes with each other. with neither man backing down or intends to stop. that led to a Tag Team Match at Saturday Night's Main Event between Mysterio and Hardcore Holly against Mercury and Rhodes. in which Mercury hits Mysterio with a Mercury Drive to pin the Intercontinental Champion. gaining momentum towards their Title Match at Wrestlemania XXIV

'RAW vs. Smackdown'

- After several confrontations of RAW GM William Regal and Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero. They have decided to pit their best superstars against another at Wrestlemania XXIV to determinewho is really the best brand in the WWE.

After running through competition at Smackdown. Guerrero picked Batista over the rest just because of his sheer size and strength that on her words, "Destroy" RAW singlehandedly. Batista is a multi-time World Heavyweight Champion and has beaten some great superstars like Triple H, Randy Orton, among others. He is also the former protege' of Triple H and Ric Flair, in which he is also a part of a group that dominated RAW called Evolution.

But in the RAW side of things. After observing a lot of potential counters to Batista and Smackdown. RAW General Manager William Regal said that he has found the 'perfect' counter to Batista and he has 'crossed the line' just to get him to represent RAW. Rumors and names have started to popped out in the internet on who might this be. but there is only one way to find out and that's to tune in to the Wrestlemania XXIV.
