Back Story: In August 2008 many of the WWE and TNA wrestlers were unhappy with management in their wrestling companies. The superstars were complaining of not being pushed and not getting enough money until they finally decided they wanted out of where they currently were. They looked for other wrestling organisations and couldn’t find anywhere that they would like to go. Eric Bishoff who was formally in the WWE saw this as a great chance to make a new Wrestling promotion much like WCW only better. Eric Bishoff called a couple of popular wrestlers who were angry with where they were and Bishoff told them about his plans. The first man Eric was The Heart Break Kid Shawn Micheals, Micheals was recently angry with a huge losing streak and he had no titles shots or wins coming so he agreed to a contract with Bishoff. A lot more wrestlers who were unhappy where they were had been informed by Eric Bishoff, they all saw that Shawn Micheals had been signed and many of them were also thinking of jumping ship. Another huge superstar in Chris Jericho moved to this new promotion because since going back to the WWE he had done nothing and he was not happy. Shawn Micheals and Chris Jericho were now signed by Eric Bishoff, soon after those signings more and more wrestlers came and were signed to contracts. Randy Orton had recently been angry with Vince McMahon and the WWE, he was one to sign as well as Christian Cage and Kurt Angle from TNA who were not going anywhere there. Eric Bishoff was happy with the popular superstars he had gained. He managed to sign a lot more wrestlers and he called it “Impact Pro Wrestling”. After getting backstage talent and a few other staff members as well as a Wednesday night TV time slot at 9:30pm for two hours, IPW, Impact Pro Wrestling was ready to go!

Development

Eric Bishoff was also able to get a Development unit going, he has a few trainers and has managed to get a lot of young wrestlers. Each week before Wednesday night Explosion starts there is one dark match, Eric Bishoff chooses a few of the best wrestlers from the Development unit to have that match.
