| Royal Rumble Build Up
Inter Promotional
30 Man Royal Rumble Match The annual 30 Man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal would continue at the Royal Rumble, as one lucky WWE Superstar, either from Raw or Smackdown, would have the right to face the WWE or World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania 25. There would be an even amount of Raw and Smackdown superstars, with 15 each. Like previous years, there would be no returning or surprise superstars, with one person from Raw missing, as speculation arose on Raw about who the mystery competitor could be. The Royal Rumble match would have 29 competitors leading into the night but have 30 competitors in the match, as the final spot would be confirmed earlier on in the night. Qualifying matches started the night after No Way Out on Raw, and continued since then. There were many Interbrand matches heading into the Royal Rumble to hype up one of the biggest WWE matches in history, with big matches like Ken Kennedy vs. Shawn Michaels, Ken Doane vs. Kane for the US Title and Matt Hardy vs. Randy Orton all taking place. Doane, Orton and Kennedy all won these respective matches. Raw and Smackdown superstars also teamed up, but would disintegrate during the match to try and get the upper hand for the Rumble match. Champion vs. Champion matches also took place, with UKonnection facing the Mexicools (UKonnection won), Ken Doane vs. Finlay (Ken Doane) and the World Champions colliding with CM Punk vs. John Cena, which went to a no contest after their respective challengers interfered. A huge 14 on 14 brawl took place on the last Smackdown before the Rumble as Raw’s competitors invaded Smackdown, which caused an all out brawl. The WWE once again hyped this match up as the most star studded Royal Rumble ever, but once you looked at the competitors, it was hard to disagree. The competitors in this match were Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, MVP, Kane, Cruiserweight Champ Paul London, The Brian Kendrick, Carlito, Monty Brown, Elijah Burke, Carlito, William Regal, DH Smith, John Morrison, Raw’s surprise Superstar, JBL, Matt Hardy, Ken Kennedy, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, Shelton Benjamin, Umaga, Gregory Helms, Big Show, US Champion Ken Doane, Kofi Kingston, Charlie Haas, Bryan Danielson, WWE Tag Champ Super Crazy and the one last qualifier for Smackdown in the match earlier in the night.
Monday Night Raw
WWE Championship Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy After once again cheating to beat Jeff Hardy in the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out, Shane McMahon announced that since Punk couldn’t prove that he could beat Jeff Hardy cleanly or at 100%, there would be a rematch at the Royal Rumble. He announced that the match would be for Punk’s WWE Championship, and it would be under Hardy’s stipulation. Hardy defeated MVP the next week on Raw in the main event, as Punk looked to attack Hardy, as he hit him with a Straight Edge! Punk then went outside and got a steel chair from the timekeeper, as he looked to hit Jeff with the chair, but Hardy ducked under it, ran onto the top rope and hit a Whisper in the Wind with the chair crashing into Punk’s head! Hardy then went outside, as he slid a table into the ring followed by a ladder, as Jeff placed Punk on the table, went to the top of the ladder and nailed Punk with a Swanton Bomb off the ladder through a table! The crowd went crazy, and when Hardy had recovered, he announced that at the Rumble, it would be TLC! Punk then went one on one with Smackdown’s champion John Cena, but it went to a no contest after Hardy and John Cena’s challenger for the Royal Rumble interfered. The next week on Raw, with 6 days left before the Royal Rumble, CM Punk requested that he was in a TLC match, as he ran through Tommy Dreamer with ease. Hardy then ran out to save Dreamer from an assault, as Punk went straight to Hardy. Jeff was in a more comfortable environment, as he ducked under Punk and nailed him with a near-by steel chair. Hardy then nailed Punk with a Twist of Fate onto the steel chair, as he posed with the WWE Championship that was once his.
Intercontinental Championship Last Chance Match If Finlay is DQ’ed or Counted Out, he loses the title. Finlay vs. Chris Jericho Chris Jericho defeated Finlay at No Way Out by a disqualification, meaning that he did not gain the Intercontinental Championship. Jericho went straight to Shane McMahon the next night on Raw, but Shane O Mac said that Jericho had to prove himself, as although he had been cheated out of the title, he had had heaps of chances at regaining the Intercontinental Championship for the ninth time. Jericho was then forced to be in a 1 on 3 Handicap Match against the three remaining UKonnection, and somehow, Jericho came out the victor, as the UKonnection seemed to just want to soften up Chris for Finlay, as Finlay came out and the 4 of them quadruple teamed Jericho. Jericho then had his Intercontinental Title match the next week, but when the match just started, Finlay left the ring to get counted out. The Raw General Manager then came out, announcing that a rematch would take place at the Royal Rumble, but it would have two stipulations. The first stipulation was that it would be Jericho’s Last Chance to regain the IC Title as Finlay was champion, but the last stipulation was that if Finlay was counted out or disqualified, he would lose the title! With 2 days left before the Rumble, Finlay defeated Primo Colon, while Jericho defeated Monty Brown. Finlay attacked Jericho after the match, knocking him out with the shillelagh.
Friday Night Smackdown
World Heavyweight Championship John Cena vs. Batista After successfully retaining his World Heavyweight Title in the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out, Cena found himself without a challenger for the Royal Rumble. The five challengers from the Elimination Chamber went at it in an Over the Top Rope Battle Royal, and after last eliminating Mr. Kennedy, Batista was declared the victor and the Number 1 Contender. Cena and Batista had a stare down after the match, as the dream match was signed for the Rumble with the title on the line. Cena faced Matt Hardy in a non title match the next week, and after Batista’s music hit, Matt Hardy rolled Cena up and got a huge win! Batista simply smirked, and he even showed up on Raw the next week with Jeff Hardy and interfered in the Champion vs. Champion match. On the Smackdown 4 nights later, Cena opened the show, promising to get back at Batista and promised to retain his World Title at the Royal Rumble. After Batista’s victory in the main event of that night’s Smackdown against former rival the seven foot tall Big Show, Cena came from behind of Batista and nailed him with the World Title across the forehead! Cena went a step further in an attempt to get at Batista, locking him in an STF-U, and was unrelenting in breaking the hold, as Batista’s face went beetroot red. Teddy Long announced that the next week, there would a contract signing with Batista and John Cena both in the ring at the same time to make their match at the Royal Rumble official. Like what always happens during a contract signing, tempers flared, and Cena tried to attack Batista behind his back, only for Batista to nail Cena with a huge Spinebuster!
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match No Disqualifications Triple H vs. Edge Triple H and Edge continued their personal feud, as one night after No Way Out in which they went to a no contest; Triple H had a Rumble qualifying match against Kofi Kingston, only for Edge to interfere. Edge nailed HHH with a low blow as he was coming off the ropes, which allowed Kofi to hit HHH with a 450 Kick, giving him a spot in the Rumble! Edge smirked as HHH looked at Edge, pissed off that Edge once again cost him a chance at going one step closer to gaining the World Title again. Edge then had a qualifying match against the ‘Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga, but HHH returned the favour, coming out while the referee was down after an accidental Spear by Edge, and laid Edge out with his trusty sledgehammer! The ref revived and Umaga pinned Edge to get his spot in the Rumble, as HHH simply smirked at what he had cost Edge. The next week, HHH had an interview with Maria, as she asked what was next for Triple H and Edge. Before HHH could answer, Edge came and Speared HHH to the ground, as the two had a backstage brawl, as security came and broke it up. Edge cut an in ring promo on HHH the next week, saying that he was sick people like HHH were stealing his spotlight, it was time for them to move over. Teddy Long came out and announced that he had requested HHH to stay home, but he went on to say that Smackdown only had 14 Rumble competitors and only one exclusive match, but that would all change. Edge and HHH would compete at the Rumble in a No DQ match, and the winner would go into the Rumble!
Royal Rumble Results
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match No Disqualifications Triple H defeated Edge in 12.30 to qualify for the Royal Rumble match later in the night. Triple H won after a Pedigree onto a steel chair, after nailing Edge with a shot to the ribs with his trusty sledgehammer.
Intercontinental Championship Last Chance Match Chris Jericho FINALLY defeated Finlay in 14.20 to win the Intercontinental Championship for the ninth time. Jericho won after Finlay attempted a shillelagh shot behind the referee’s back (the referee was fixing up an exposed turnbuckle), but Y2J dodged under it and hit the Codebreaker.
World Heavyweight Championship John Cena defeated Batista in 15.40 to once again retain his World Heavyweight Championship. The dream match didn’t disappoint, as after an exciting finish with various counters, Cena finished the Animal off with a devastating FU. Cena had kicked out of a Spinebuster and a Spear during the match, and Batista had managed to get a rope break while in the STF-U and he also kicked out of an FU.
WWE Championship Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match CM Punk defeated Jeff Hardy in 25.35 to successfully retain his WWE Championship. In a match with some extreme spots, including a Swanton Bomb off a ladder, a Pepsi Plunge off the top rope onto a steel chair and a Superplex through a table by Punk, CM Punk unclipped the title after Paul Burchill came down and dumped Hardy off a ladder, sending him through a table. Punk picked up the scraps by unhooking the title.
Royal Rumble Match Winner faces a World Champ of their choosing at Wrestlemania 25 Mr. Kennedy won the Royal Rumble match in 1. 06. 50 to have the right to face a World Champion of his choosing at Wrestlemania 25. Mr. Kennedy last eliminated Triple H to win after entering at Number 1. Kennedy won after Edge interfered and Speared HHH, and when Kennedy revived, he had no idea and through HHH over the top rope to be declared the victor. The mystery man from Raw turned out to be the Undertaker, who returned to a pop from the crowd.
Okay, so that is all with the recaps, now I can start with the weekly shows. I will continue with my classic style of writing, as I think that although it is brief, it gets to the point. I will now write Smackdown also (with the same style as Raw), but I will post weekly Smackdown and Raw’s still separately._________________ Credit for le' sexy siggeh: RTheory/Rock |

| OK, I have decided that I will need to get on track quickly with these shows, so I will post them after one day. Comments puhleez . Also, my shows get alot longer, I can't believe how short these shows are, and they are even longer than my first shows :S. Monday Night Raw
The show opens up with a highlight video package of what happened at the Rumble, first off with Jericho finally defeating Finlay to win the Intercontinental Championship for a record ninth time. It then cuts to highlights of the awesome TLC match, with Burchill then for some reason coming down at the end of the match when Jeff Hardy was about to reach the gold and cost Hardy the match so CM Punk could retain his title. It then shows the end of the Royal Rumble match, with Mr. Kennedy last eliminating HHH to once again get a shot at a World Title after Edge interference.
It then cuts to the live arena, with the pyrotechnic display going off, as JR and the King then welcome us to the show, as they once again talk about the 2009 Royal Rumble. King expresses his disappointment that a Raw Superstar didn’t win the Rumble, but then expresses his excitement that Wrestlemania is coming soon. JR then talks about the Rumble last night and congratulations to Ken Kennedy for winning the Royal Rumble after being the Number 1 entrant, but to the shock of JR, the King and everyone in the arena...
‘Turn up the Trouble’ hits to a huge shock pop and a huge ovation, as the 2009 Royal Rumble winner Mr. Kennedy makes his way out to the ring! JR and the King are obviously shocked, as Lillian Garcia introduces Kennedy, but she is cut off. Kennedy then does his standard entrance stuff, repeating Kennedy twice before throwing up his microphone. ‘Kennedy’ chants ring out through the arena, as he gets a microphone from Garcia, getting ready to speak. Kennedy goes to speak, but the chants are too loud, so he waits for the crowd to die down. Kennedy goes on to say that he is not here to make his announcement about who he would face, but said that since he knew Raw was in Detroit, Michigan (getting a cheap pop), he thought he would drop by. He talks about last night and says it was up there with the biggest highlights of his career, perhaps only topped by winning the World Heavyweight Championship. He says that he has the choice of choosing who he wants to face at the Grandest Stage of them All, whether it be CM Punk (boos) or his old ‘buddy’ John Cena (boos once again). He says that whoever he faces on that night of Wrestlemania 25 in Texas, the outcome would be the same, as the title was coming home to Mr. Kennedy... KENNEDY! The Royal Rumble winner goes to leave the ring, only for ‘This Fire Burns’ to play over the speakers to huge heat, as the WWE Champ CM Punk makes his way down to the ring, making Kennedy smirk and stay in the ring.
Punk says that Kennedy needs to shut his mouth, as he wasn’t the only victor last night, as he (Punk) stole the show in the TLC match. Punk said that Kennedy better choose wisely about who he would face at Wrestlemania, because if he chose Punk, he would be going home with no gold! Punk talks about what he did to Jeff Hardy and how he ‘single-handedly’ destroyed Punk, and since we have all seen Hardy beat Kennedy, Punk said he would be able to beat Kennedy with ease. Kennedy smirks, as he goes back to what Punk said about beating Hardy single-handedly, even though they had been in a multi man match at No Way Out, he had to cheat at Survivor Series in the 2 out of 3 Falls Match, Jeff had endured 20 minutes of suffering in the Scramble Match as Punk picked up the scraps AND that he needed Burchill to help him win last night. Punk goes ballistic as he tries to attack who could be his challenger at Wrestlemania, only for Kennedy to duck under a belt shot and nail Punk with a Mic Check! Kennedy celebrates to a huge pop from the crowd, when ‘Here Comes the Money’ hits to a great pop, as Raw General Manager Shane McMahon makes his way onto the stage.
Shane O Mac says that it is an honour to have Mr. Kennedy on Raw tonight, and ask the fans if they would like to see Mr. Kennedy in action. Kennedy once again smirks as the crowd let out the obvious yes, as Shane says that what the fans want, they get. Shane then says that Mr. Kennedy was going to go one on one with a huge player here on Raw, and someone that Kennedy respects. McMahon goes on to say that Mr. Kennedy will go one on one with... JEFF HARDY! The crowd give an amazing pop for the huge inter brand match up here tonight, as they remember the time 6 months ago when the two ruled the WWE. Kennedy smiles at the idea of him facing the ‘Charismatic Enigma’, as ‘Turn up the Trouble’ plays once again. Kennedy turns around and looks at the recovering Punk, as he just shakes his head as we go to a commercial.

We return from the break with a ‘Moments Ago’ package, where we are shown what happened with Mr. Kennedy, CM Punk, Shane McMahon and the main event announcement between Kennedy and Jeff Hardy. JR and the King talk about how tonight’s Raw is shaping up to be huge, with not only Kennedy vs. Hardy, but Finlay was cashing in his Intercontinental Title rematch clause against Chris Jericho, but to ensure no interference from the UKonnection it would be in a fifteen foot high steel cage.
‘Obsession’ hit to a nice pop, as the former Women’s Champion and Smackdown Diva Mickie James makes her way to the ring. JR notes that this is her first match back since losing her title in October to Beth Phoenix on the edition of Raw. King then says that Mickie didn’t have a rematch clause in her contract so this was a non title match, but if she was to win, she would be in the running to once again have a shot at the Women’s Title.
‘Glamazon’ then hit to heat as the Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix makes her way to the ring with her little crown on her head, ready to face Mickie. JR talks about Mickie and Beth’s history, saying how they traded the Women’s Title various times in 2007 and 2008. King says that Beth is one of the most dominating divas in history, reminiscent of Chyna in the late 1990’s.
|Match 1| |Interbrand Diva’s Action| |Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix|
This was an above standard women’s match, most likely because these two Diva’s have so much chemistry with each other. At the start of the match, Mickie wore Beth down with her speed and aerial attacks, but Beth caught Mickie when she came down for a Crossbody from the top. Beth then slammed Mickie down, as the match then turned to the worse for Mickie, as Beth was now in control. Beth dominated James with her power moves, as Mickie looked to have severe pain in her lower back which was just surgically repaired. Beth couldn’t seem to put the resilient James away, as she then signalled that it was over, as the Women’s Champion went for the Glam Slam, only for Mickie to roll through Beth’s legs into a victory roll! 1...2..3! Mickie defeated Beth in her return match!
|Winner: Mickie James|
Mickie quickly rolled out of the ring after she got the shock pinfall; this had to elevate her into the Number 1 Contender spot. Mickie slapped hands with the fans as Beth waited in the ring on her knees. She slammed the mat with her fists, wondering how that one got away. The referee handed Beth her Women’s Title, when all of a sudden, Beth nailed the referee with a clothesline! The crowd were stunned, as she proceeded to lift the referee up, and hit him with a Glam Slam! Beth left with her Women’s Title on her shoulder, with fire in her eyes.

When we come back from the break, ‘Britannia’ hits to huge heat from the crowd, as the UKonnection (minus Finlay) make their way out to the ring. Paul Burchill has a big smile on his face in the background, as do the rest of the UKonnection. This was obviously because Burchill cost Jeff the WWE Championship last night in the TLC match, as JR says that hopefully Burchill will answer all the questions here tonight. William Regal then gets a microphone but unlike previous weeks, he hands the mic over to Burchill, who tries to speak. Burchill then insults the crowd’s hometown getting cheap heat, which makes Burchill’s smile wider. Burchill talks about last night and how he cost Jeff the WWE Title and he said the reason being was because he and the UKonnection were sick of seeing Jeff getting chance after chance at the title, and how Burchill wasn’t even in the Rumble. Burchill then goes to talk about how Jeff screwed out of the title at No Way Out in the Elimination Chamber; he thought he would return the favour. Burchill then says that Jeff needs to pass the torch over to new contenders, like Burchill, Smith, Regal and Finlay. Burchill then throws the mic down and the UKonnection leave the ring, but not before Burchill says that they would see him tonight. As the UKonnection leave up the ramp, JR talks about the dominance of the UKonnection and how they have held the World Tag Team Titles for more than 6 months.
JR then goes to a more severe tone, as he talks about the Royal Rumble last night, as we cut to footage of last night. We see about half way into the match, where former WWE Tag Team Champion, ECW Champion and IC Champion John Morrison was in the ring. Morrison had just eliminated former Cruiserweight Champion Kofi Kingston, and then hit Gregory Helms with a Moonlight Drive. It then turns to slow motion and black and white, as we see fellow Raw Superstar Monty Brown dump Morrison over the top rope, as John lands awkwardly on his leg, ala John Cena in 2004. We then cut back to ringside as the King announces that Morrison tore a ligament in his knee, and would be out for 4-6 months as a result. JR and the King wish Morrison a quick recovery, and hope he is back doing what he does best very soon.
|Commercial|
‘Cool’ by Jim Johnston then hits to a nice ovation, as the three members of the Puerto Rican Nightmares make their way to the ring. JR talks about even though they haven’t won any titles in the short tenure in the WWE, they have done a lot, and he expects them to have a run with the World Tag Team Titles very soon. King said that the older Colon has led the way of the two youngsters, which is why they came so Colon to gaining the Tag Team Titles at No Way Out.
‘Voices’ by Rev Theory then hits to huge heat, as the Two Man Dynasty Randy Orton and MVP make their way to the ring. King talks about Orton’s run in the Rumble as to how he was dominant but all his momentum was crushed after HBK eliminated him. Highlights are shown of Randy re- entering the ring and eliminating HBK, as the Two Man Dynasty then assaulted HBK, which resulted in an RKO on the announce table, which is why Michaels is not here tonight.
|Tag Team Match| |The Two Man Dynasty vs. Puerto Rican Nightmares|
The competing members of the Puerto Rican Nightmares competitors were the two brothers Carlito and Primo. Randy and Carlito started off the match as the faces had the advantage to start off the match, until the tide turned when Randy nailed an uppercut to Primo, as the Two Man Dynasty got the advantage with Primo as the face in peril. Randy and MVP worked on the right leg of Primo, keeping him in their corner. It looked as though Primo would be able to get to his brother after an Enziguiri to Orton, but after Porter was tagged in; Primo was stopped in his tracks.
Primo tried desperately to get to his brother Carlito, only for MVP to lock him in a Modified Figure Four Leg Lock, keeping the younger Colon grounded. Primo managed to turn over to reverse the pressure, and when he got up, he tagged in Carlito. Orton was also tagged in, and after an even affair, Primo took MVP with a Hurricanrana over the top rope, as the referee checked on the two. As the ref was checking on them, Randy hit Carlito with a low blow, followed by an RKO for the victory!
|Winners: The Two Man Dynasty|
After the match, Randy gets a microphone, and talks about last night and Shawn Michaels. He says that Shawn has been in the business too long, but he is still a child, and he proves that with his antics in DX. He talks about how it is time to pass the torch to the present and future of the WWE in the Two Man Dynasty, and Randy will prove that next week, as it will be Orton vs. HBK, one on one.
|Commercial|
We are backstage with Todd Grisham, and he wastes no time in introducing his guest, the man that regained the CW Title just last week against the man he has been feuding with so long in The Brian Kendrick, his guest, Paul London! Paul walks in to a nice response from the crowd, as Grisham asks him straight away as to how it feels to be Cruiserweight Champion again after losing the title to TBK one night after Survivor Series. London said that he had felt empty after losing the Cruiserweight Title, as he knew he could beat Kendrick, but on that night, he couldn’t get it done. He said that he had tried so hard to get it back, but he hadn’t cashed in his rematch clause straight away as he wanted the time to be right. He said that his training proved the charm, and that he was once again the Cruiserweight Champ. Grisham then asked London what was next for him and Kendrick, but before he could answer this question, The Brian Kendrick himself appeared out of nowhere!
The Brian Kendrick then ran London into the steel support poles near-by, before ripping the microphone out of Grisham’s hands. Kendrick then proceeds to repeatedly bash the microphone into his former partner’s skull. A gash then forms on London’s head as a result, as Todd tries to pull TBK off, only to be pushed away time and time again. Kendrick then looks at London’s Cruiserweight Title that used to be Kendrick’s, and when Paul gets up, he is smashed in the face with his own Cruiserweight Title, making the gash even deeper! Kendrick then says that he wasn’t going to wait to cash in his rematch clause, as he would cash it in next week!

| ‘Britannia’ hits to a huge heat once again as the ‘Irishman’ Finlay makes his way down to the ring. JR talks about how he won the Intercontinental Title back at Summerslam of last year, and he and the UKonnection did everything in their power to keep the title on Finlay. King says that Jericho was chasing the title around Unforgiven, but was constantly being screwed until he won the title last night.
The countdown starts on the titantron before fireworks burst out, ‘Break the Walls Down’ hits to a huge pop, as the NEW Intercontinental Champion makes his way out. Chris Jericho has a large smile on his face after winning the IC Title once again last night. Jericho slaps hands with the desperate fans as he approaches the cage. Y2J can’t do his signature entrance with the cage there, as he instead, checks if the cage is secure, before he makes his way in the cage and poses on the top rope.
|Steel Cage Match| |Intercontinental Championship| |IC Champ Chris Jericho vs. Finlay|
The match started off just like a normal match, with no man taking advantage of having the cage surrounding them just yet. Jericho attempted a Lionsault early, but managed to land on his feet when Finlay moved. The match started off at a quick pace, which was obviously a disadvantage to the Irishman Finlay. As Jericho went for a Bulldog, Finlay took advantage of his surroundings by ramming Y2J’s head into the solid steel. Finlay then got the head of Y2J and began to grind it into the steel mesh, until the champion reversed by hitting Finlay in the gut, before grinding Finlay’s face into the cage!
The match then slowed down as the two fierce rivals fought for the advantage, as once they did, they used the cage as a weapon. Jericho nailed Finlay with his signature Springboard Dropkick into the cage, but this was followed by a sick Belly to Belly Suplex into the cage by Finlay. Jericho looked to do damage to his lower neck, but he still fought on, as he didn’t want to give up the IC Title that he tried so hard to get this early.
The match continued as it approached the 20 minute mark, the crowd getting more vocal and much more enthused as the match went on. Finlay tried escaping the cage after he locked Jericho in the Celtic Knot for about a minute, but Jericho recovered. Jericho raced after Finlay and managed to pull him down onto the top rope, as the two traded punches. Finlay went for a final blow to knock Y2J off, only for Jericho to duck under it, and somehow nail a CODEBREAKER OFF THE TOP ROPE! The crowd let out a huge pop, as Jericho crawled towards the door, as the referee opened it and Y2J was declared the victor!
|Winner and STILL IC Champion: Y2J Chris Jericho|
|Commercial|
We return from another commercial break in Shane McMahon’s office. Shane is on the phone as he then says goodbye and hangs up, as we then hear a knock on the door. Shane tells them to come in, and it is none other than the former World Champion Rey Mysterio! Rey said that Shane wanted to see him, as Shane O Mac said that he had just gotten off of the phone with Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long. Shane then said that Wrestlemania had gotten its first match signed, which was the annual Money in the Bank Ladder match! The crowd let out a huge pop for the MITB match making its return at Wrestlemania’s 25th Anniversary, but Rey looks confused. Mysterio then asked how that involved him, as Shane O Mac said that starting from next week, qualifying matches would take place, and Mysterio would have the chance to be one of the eight men, as he would face the man that put John Morrison out of action, Monty Brown, in an MITB qualifying match! We cut back to ringside as JR hypes previous Money in the Bank matches and winners, and says that their current champion CM Punk cashed in his briefcase to win the title, as the two announcers hype Rey vs. Brown next week.
We then cut to an Undertaker hype video package, which shows Taker returning during the Rumble last night. It shows Undertaker returning last night by entering the Royal Rumble at number 18, eliminating the likes of Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy, Elijah Burke and Carlito in a dominating display. It then shows the Undertaker’s past achievements and the return of the American Badass persona at the Great American Bash before his match against Shawn Michaels. Righting then appears down the bottom of the screen with Undertaker doing the urn taunt, as it says ‘Undertaker’s return to Monday Night Raw. Next Week.’
|Commercial|
‘No More Words’ blasts out to a huge ovation from the crowd once we return from the break, as the former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy makes his way out to the ring. Jeff does his little dance up at the top of the entrance way as fireworks explode. Jeff is wearing a band aid on his forehead, selling the effects of last night’s brutal TLC match. Jeff gets in the ring and poses on the top rope, as Lillian introduces him.
‘Turn up the Trouble’ hits to an equally large pop, as the 2009 Royal Rumble winner Mr. Kennedy makes his way to the ring. Kennedy does his usual entrance as the fans join in, with Hardy smirking in the background. Before the match even starts, the two share a long handshake, signifying their friendship. The crowd has a cheering war with a ‘Let’s Go Hardy’ chant starting, quickly followed by ‘Let’s go Kennedy’.
|Main Event| |Interbrand Match| |Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Kennedy|
The chanting war continued at the start of the match, and this contest had all styles, high flying, brawling, mat wrestling and technical all included. Neither man could get a distinct advantage to open up the match, as it was a battle of one up man ship. Jeff seemed to get the advantage after a standing Hurricanrana, but when he bent down, Kennedy got him in a small package for a near fall.
After the exciting opening exchange, the match slowed down a little bit, but was still considerably high paced. Jeff was constantly going up to the top rope, but barely hit a move as Kennedy was either reversing by rolling out of the way or sticking his knees up, or getting up too quickly for Jeff to jump. Hardy eventually nailed Kennedy with a top rope Tornado DDT, giving Jeff the advantage.
The high paced action continued, Kennedy taking the advantage after Jeff went for a Twist of Fate after the Tornado DDT, only for Kennedy to spin out of it and nail a Neckbreaker. Kennedy then worked over the back of Hardy, nailing moves such as various suplexes and a backbreaker, trying to keep Hardy grounded. After Kennedy eventually went for a Mic Check, Hardy elbowed out of it, before running onto the top rope and hitting the Whisper in the Wind!
At the 15 minute mark of what had been a very great match, Jeff started to once again take control. Jeff nailed Kennedy with his signature Sitout Suplex Face Buster, as he did the V1 taunt. Hardy then lifted the Number 1 Contender up, before hitting the Twist of Fate! Jeff then collapsed on the mat along with Kennedy, although Jeff managed to pull himself up by the ropes, as he went up top once again.
Hardy’s little rest proved very costly however, as when Jeff went up top, Ken got up to quickly for Jeff to get an offensive manoeuvre. Kennedy met Hardy with punches as he was on the top rope, but Hardy hit Ken with punches straight back. After the brawl on the top rope, all 4 male members of the UKonnection and WWE Champion CM Punk came racing down to the ring, and after pulling them off the top rope, assaulted the two men!
|No Contest|
Punk continued to beat down on Kennedy, as the UKonnection continued to ambush Jeff Hardy, making it a 4 on 1 assault on Jeff. Kennedy and Jeff begin to fight back against the 5 most dominant heels on Raw, and when Paul Burchill goes to knock Jeff down with a lariat, Kennedy pushes Jeff away and Smith nails his own partner DH Smith! The crowd give out a huge pop, as Jeff quickly lays Regal and Finlay out with a Springboard Crossbody, leaving just CM Punk and Paul Burchill!
Smith then charges at the former WWE Champion in Hardy, only to be kicked in the gut, as is Punk by the Rumble winner Kennedy. Kennedy then nails Punk with a Mic Check for the second time in the night, and at the same time, Jeff nails the man that cost him the WWE Championship last night with a Twist of Fate! The faces pose for a bit as all the heels are laid out either in or outside the ring, as they look at each other and nod.
Both men make their way up to the top rope, as Jeff does his signature V1 taunt as Kennedy spreads his arms out as he tries to balance on the top rope. Jeff then leaps off the top with a Swanton Bomb to Burchill, and Kennedy hits a Kenton Bomb to Punk! The faces then pose for a bit more, as Kennedy then gets a mic and invites Punk to Smackdown on Friday, as he would be announcing who he would face at Wrestlemania 25! _________________ Credit for le' sexy siggeh: RTheory/Rock |

| Friday Night Smackdown
Friday Night Smackdown opens up with a different Royal Rumble video package than Raw, this one starting off with HHH vs. Edge in a No DQ match, where the winner would advance to the Royal Rumble. Taking advantage of the No Disqualification stipulation, Triple H nailed Edge in the gut with a sledgehammer shot to the gut before hitting a Pedigree onto a chair for the victory, advancing to the Royal Rumble. After it shows Triple H celebrating on the top rope, it cuts to the huge World Heavyweight Title dream match between John Cena and Batista. It shows both men hitting their finishers during the match, with both men kicking out, and also Batista forcing Cena to break the STF-U after getting to the bottom rope. After a wrestling clinic, Cena managed to hit a second F-U and quickly followed with a pin (wasting no time), retaining his World Heavyweight Championship. It then cuts to the Royal Rumble match with Mr. Kennedy entering Number 1, but lasting an hour to get to the final two, along with the man that qualified earlier in the night, HHH. Both men were spent but fought through it, but as Kennedy was down, Edge came charging in and hit HHH with a Spear, before an oblivious Kennedy threw Triple H over the top rope for the victory! The pyro then goes off as we return to the arena, as we see Michael Cole and Tazz at ringside, who talk about Sunday night’s huge PPV, and say that tonight’s show is huge, with HHH facing US Champion Ken Doane in a non title match in the main event, and Mr. Kennedy announcing who he will face at Wrestlemania XXV for the championship.
‘Live for the Moment’ hits to a huge pop, as the former United States Champion Matt Hardy makes his way to the ring. Hardy looks pumped up for his upcoming match, as he does his V1 taunt to a pop from the crowd. Tazz talks about Matt’s impressive performance in the Rumble, saying that he put in everything to have a chance at his first World Title.
‘World’s Greatest’ then hits to a nice pop, as the Self Proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas make their way to the ring. The former tag champions shake hands with Matt, showing their respect for their partner. All three men stand in the ring, awaiting their opponents in this Six Man Tag Team Match.
‘I’m All About Cool’ hits to small heat, as the tandem of Deuce and Domino make their way down the ramp. The announcers talk about how it has been a while since they have won a match, and tonight could be a starting point. They say that the tag team had not been in the Rumble, so none of them had the opportunity at singles gold.
‘’The Final Countdown’ plays to huge heat, as the American Dragon Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring. Michael Cole makes mention of his and Hardy’s history and even Danielson’s history with WGGT, after facing them in his first match in the WWE with CM Punk, and the WGGT, Hardy and Danielson teaming up to represent Smackdown at Survivor Series.
|Match 1 | |Six Man Tag Team Match| |Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas vs. Bryan Danielson, Deuce and Domino| The match started off very high paced as the face team worked over the heels, as Hardy and Domino started off the match. Hardy worked over the back of Domino, as the face team used constant tags, as all three were tag team specialists. The WGGT nailed their unique leapfrog manoeuvre which they used when they used to be aligned with Kurt Angle, but when Benjamin went for the pin, both Danielson and Deuce broke it up. This caused the two partners of Benjamin to run in the ring and the three faces threw their opponents over the top rope (all on different sides of the ring). They then measured the heels up, as Hardy nailed Danielson with a crossbody, as did Benjamin to Domino and Haas to Deuce!
After the faces did this, the heels used dirty tactics to get back into the match, as when Domino looked to be in trouble as Benjamin bounced off the ropes, Danielson stuck his knee there out of the referee’s vision, causing Benjamin’s back to run into Bryan’s knee. The heels took the advantage from there, as Danielson worked well with Deuce and Domino. Shelton played the face in peril in this match, as his right leg was worked on by the three heels. Tazz noted that taking out the leg of Benjamin would take away his high flying ability. Benjamin looked to be in danger as he was set up for a Crack Them in the Mouth, but Benjamin dodged out of the way.
The heels were still in charge, but when Deuce went for a Suplex, Benjamin landed on his feet, and hit Deuce with a Step-Up Enziguiri! The crowd let out a pretty big pop, as Benjamin crawls towards his corner, as both of the legal men tag out, as Hardy and Danielson come in! Danielson charged at Hardy, only for the pumped up Matt to catch Bryan and hit him with a huge Side Effect! Domino then comes charging in, but Matt ducks him, and he runs into a forearm by Haas (who is in the corner), and when he stumbles back, Matt hits him with a Reverse DDT!
Danielson and Hardy stayed in the ring for a fair while, as Hardy lifted Danielson up and hit another Side Effect! Matt then went up top, before hitting the Big Time Leg Drop! Matt then spread his arms out and fed off the energy from the crowd, as he waited to connect with the Twist of Fate. Danielson got up, and Matt kicked him in the gut before getting him in a front face lock, but Deuce and Domino ran in and clubbed Matt in the back. Haas and Benjamin charged in, as they both clotheslined Deuce and Domino over the top rope! Haas and Benjamin then nailed Danielson with a Double Superkick, as he stumbled around, and right into a Twist of Fate! |Winners: Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas|
After the match, Danielson rolls to the outside, as Matt, Haas and Benjamin link hands before raising them in air. Once Danielson had recovered, he made his way to the back very quietly, Deuce and Domino in his wake. Matt then goes up to the top rope and does his V1 taunt, as Benjamin and Haas go to different corners and raise their arms in the air in jubilation.

When we return from the break, we are backstage in the locker room, where US Champion Ken Doane and the two members of Enforcement Inc. Justin LaRouche and Rycklon Stephens are in the back warming up. Cole and Tazz talk about how Doane has one of the biggest matches in his career tonight, and Enforcement Inc. are also in action when they take on the unique team of Jesse and Festus. They talk about how Doane has had some huge matches in the past with and without the US Championship, facing the likes of Matt Hardy, Kane and Shawn Michaels, but perhaps his match against HHH tonight is his biggest match yet. Tazz talks about how Doane would rise through the ranks of the Smackdown roster if he was to beat HHH, and also, Reinforcement Inc. may rise through the ranks of the tag team division if they beat Jesse and Festus in their match, which is later on tonight. We cut away from the locker room as Michael Cole and Tazz hype up tonight’s card and what will happen later tonight, with Kennedy deciding who he would face at Wrestlemania 25 for whichever World Title he wishes to go for. Cole then says to not go anywhere, as after the break, the Miz will go one on one with Smackdown’s newest superstar!
|Commercial|
Tony Chimel is in the ring with a microphone and a palm card in hand. Tony then tells the crowd that tonight they would be witnessing the debut of a cruiserweight. Tony then told the fans to put their hands together for the man that would be making his debut tonight, from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 183 pounds, Evan Bourne! ‘Axeman’ hits to a nice welcoming ovation, as Bourne makes his way out, pumped for his upcoming match and his debut on the big stage.
‘Reality’ then hits to small heat, as the Chick Magnet the Miz makes his entrance, smirking at Bourne, thinking the debutant will be easy pickings. The Miz bad mouths the fans as he makes his way down the ramp, screaming ‘Hoorah’ in their faces. As Miz is doing this, in the ring, Bourne bounces off the ropes before leaping over the top rope and right onto Miz with a Springboard Senton!
|Match 2| |Bourne’s debut match| |Evan Bourne vs. the Miz| Bourne had the advantage at the start of this match after catching the Miz by surprise. Bourne used several high flying moves to work over the Miz, as Miz found it hard to keep the excited Bourne grounded. Miz managed to get Evan down after nailing a back body drop as Bourne came off the ropes, but when the Miz bent down to pick Bourne up, Evan showed tremendous speed by nailing the Miz with a Kip Up Hurricanrana! Bourne kept Miz grounded throughout the next few minutes, but Miz dodged an attempted Diving Crossbody from Evan, which gave Miz time to recover after being shocked at how quick Evan was.
Miz then worked over the back of Bourne, and he looked to finish Evan off on his debut as he went for the Reality Check a few minutes later, but spun out of the Neckbreaker attempt, and nailed an Enziguiri, and then followed up with a Springboard Tornado DDT! Bourne then quickly hopped up to the top rope before looking around to the crowd, and then nailing a picture perfect Shooting Star Press! Cole then calls that huge Shooting Star Press “Air Bourne”, as the eager Bourne climbs over Miz and hooks both legs for the cover! 1...2...3! Bourne wins on his debut! |Winner: Evan Bourne|
After the bell rings, Bourne is ecstatic, gaining his first win in the WWE in his first ever match. Bourne runs outside of the ring and celebrates with the fans, who pat him on the back, seemingly proud of what Bourne has done. After almost of celebrating in the crowd, Bourne makes his way up the ramp with the cheesy grin still over his face, as he makes his way through the curtain.

We return from the commercial break with Teddy Long in his office, getting a nice reaction from the fans. Teddy Long talks about the big decision later on in the night regarding Mr. Kennedy and who he would face at Wrestlemania XXV, but Teddy said that he also had an announcement. Teddy said that up next is a Number 1 Contender’s Match for the US Title between former Cruiserweight Champions Gregory Helms and Kofi Kingston, where the winner would then face the United States Champion Ken Doane next week for the US Title. Long then said that he would add another special stipulation to that match next week between the Number 1 Contender and Doane, as he said that this past Monday on Raw, Shane McMahon announced the return of the Money in the Bank Ladder match for Wrestlemania 25, and Long continues to say that whoever wins the US Title match next week, would also win a spot into the Money in the Bank Match, ensuring themselves a spot at Wrestlemania!
|Commercial|
‘SOS' hits to pretty big heat, as the former Cruiserweight Champion Kofi Kingston makes his way down to the ring. Kofi comes down with the trademark sneer on his face, and makes his way down to the ring. Kofi pays no attention to the fans which he turned on 5 months ago, in which he faced his opponent tonight in Gregory Helms to win the Cruiserweight Championship.
‘Firestorm’ hits then to a huge ovation, as the fan favourite and former superhero Gregory Helms makes his way to the ring. Helms is visibly pumped before this match, knowing that if he wins, he will get another chance at Doane’s US Championship. Helms slaps the hands of the fans, before putting his eyes on his opponent Kofi Kingston, as he runs up the steps and climbs into the ring.

| |Match 3| |US Title Number 1 Contender’s Match| |Gregory Helms vs. Kofi Kingston| Helms gave everything he had in this match, as he tried so hard to get what he has wanted for so long, a US Title Shot. Kofi also put everything he had in this match, wanting to get another shot at the US Title which he chased to get in the mid- late time of 2008. Kofi dominated the early going of this match as he kept the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion of all time grounded, disabling his high flying ability. Kofi went for a quick 450 Kick, but Helms dodged, went for a Shining Wizard, but Kofi dodged that, only to turn into a quick Superkick to the jaw by Helms!
Throughout the next minutes, Helms and Kofi fought desperately for the advantage. Helms was nailed with a 450 Kick by Kofi, but somehow Helms managed to kick out after the two. Kofi was pissed, so he then went for a trademark double leg drop, but Helms moved away at the last second. Kofi gradually began getting up holding his left leg, but was hit with a Shining Wizard! The crowd popped, as Helms then made his way up to the top rope, seemingly looking for the Nightmare on Helms Street!
Kofi, however, nailed Helms with a dropkick to the sternum as he came down, and gets the advantage in the match once again. Kofi then lifted the former Cruiserweight Champion up, before getting him into a Jamaican Driver position. Helms, however, got off the back of Kofi and got behind, before getting him in position and nail a devastating Vertebreaker! The crowd cheer as Kofi succumbs to the devastating move, as Helms climbs over for the cover! 1...2...3! Helms is the new Number 1 Contender for the US Title once again. |Winner: Gregory Helms|
Helms raises to his feet with a big smile on his face, knowing that he has a shot at the United States Championship next week, and also a shot at getting in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Kofi still hasn’t budged after the devastating move, as Cole highlights that Helms’ determination at getting the United States Championship could have been the deciding factor in tonight’s match, and also what could be the deciding factor in next week’s match. Helms then gets his arm raised by the referee, before making his way to the back, slapping the eager fans’ hands in the process.

We go backstage when we come back from the break, and Maria is in the back, ready for an interview. Maria then introduces the person she was interviewing as the Rated R Superstar, Edge! Edge walks on with a smile on his face, happy after costing Triple H the Royal Rumble match last night. Maria goes to ask the obvious question as to why he would do that last night, only for Edge to blow her off, and making her go away, as Edge would interview the rest by himself. Edge said that he had a message for Triple H if it hadn’t gone through yet, and that was that he needs to pass the torch over to the younger guys like Edge, saying that it was their time to shine. Edge said that Triple H cost him his shot in the Rumble, so it was only fair that he cost HHH his World Title shot, even though he wouldn’t have won that anyway. He then tells HHH to retire before Edge gets him once again, and told HHH to watch himself tonight. He then sends messages of warning to Mr. Kennedy and John Cena, telling Mr. Kennedy he better go to Raw or else there will be hell to pay, as he says that once Kennedy goes to Raw, Cena better watch out, as Edge will be the new World Heavyweight Champion. |Commercial|
‘Unglued’ hits (Snitsky’s old music) to big heat, as the team of Justin LaRouche and Rycklon Stephens make their way to the ring. Ken Doane’s bodyguards go by the name of Enforcement Inc., and Tazz says that these men may be as dangerous as one of their opponents tonight in Festus. Cole talks about how impressive they have been in their short time in the WWE, and how they could be future WWE Tag Team Champions.
‘Biscuits and Gravy’ hits to a huge pop, as the tandem of Jesse and Festus make their ways down to the ring. As always, Festus is being restrained by Jesse, who had changed after the chair shot given to him by Lance Cade over six months ago. Festus climbs into the ring and attempts to get away from Jesse, but is unable to do so. LaRouche and Stephens stay back from Festus, only going closer after the bell had rung.
|Match 4| |Tag Team Match| |Jesse and Festus vs. Enforcement Inc. (Rycklon and LaRouche)| The match was a fairly sluggish match, as the bodyguards of the US Champion Ken Doane used their size and strength to wear down the smaller Jesse, as an angry Festus waited on the outside. Rycklon almost finished off Jesse in a matter of minutes after a Fall Away Slam, but Jesse managed to kick out. Jesse tried to get back in his match, but Rycklon and Justin kept him in their corner. An opening came for Jesse, as he elbowed his way out of the corner and nailed LaRouche with a Running Swinging Neckbreaker, before crawling and tagging the Corn Fed Colossus for the first time in the match!
Festus dominates both of his opponents, as he caught an incoming Rycklon and nailed him with a Spinning Side Slam. LaRouche then came charging in, but was hit by a Big Boot from Festus, before being hit with the unique thigh attack by Festus! The legal man Stephens then got up, and was hit with a Sitout Gutbuster Drop! Festus then covered Rycklon, but it was broken up by LaRouche! A recovered Jesse then came in and clotheslined the much larger Justin over the top, before hitting him with an over the top rope Crossbody! Festus then lifted Rycklon back up, and with the coast clear, nailed the Fireman Carry Flapjack FTW. |Winners: Jesse and Festus|
The bell rings, but Festus still wants to fight, as he has to be restrained by his brother Jesse. Jesse raises Festus’ arm in the air, as Festus looks to go to the outside of the ring where LaRouche and Rycklon lye unconscious. Jesse takes Festus out of the ring , although away from Enforcement Inc. As they make their way up the ramp, we see Lance Cade in his locker room with a smirk on his face, watching Jesse and Festus go behind the curtain. Michael Cole and Tazz question why Lance Cade would still be watching Jesse and Festus, as he dealt with them many months ago, and he doesn’t even have a tag team partner after losing Murdoch as result of his problems with Jesse and Festus.

‘Pure Control’ hits to massive heat, as the WWE United States Champion Ken Doane makes his way to the ring, ready for what could be the biggest match in his career. Doane feeds off the heat given off to him by the fans, as he poses on the top rope to more heat. Doane hops down and paces the ring, ready for his opponent to come out. The crowd wait in anticipation, as the whole arena goes quiet, ready for the arrival of the 12 Time World Champion.
‘Time to Play the Game’ finally blasts out through the speakers to what is easily the loudest pop of the night, as the runner up of last night’s Royal Rumble Triple H makes his way to the ring. Triple H did his signature entrance, water bottle and all. Triple H then made his way into the ring and onto the top rope, getting the fans pumped for what promises to be an exciting match up, between the past and present of the WWE against the future of the WWE.
|Main Event| |Non Title Match| |Triple H vs. US Champion Ken Doane| The match started off at a considerably slow pace, as the veteran HHH wore down the younger Doane. HHH used various arm locks and suplexes to wear down Doane, who struggled to find the advantage in the match. An opening showed for Doane, as when HHH went for a back body drop, Doane kicked him in the face as he was bent over. Doane then dragged the Twelve Time World Heavyweight Champion in to a front face lock, and a Spike DDT, dropping Trips right on his head! Doane then spread his arms out wide and taunted the fans, getting heat from the pro- HHH fans. Doane then went straight back on the offensive, smirking after angering the capacity crowd.
Doane maintained this advantage throughout the next few minutes, keeping HHH grounded at all costs. Doane then nailed HHH with a signature Whiplash Neckbreaker, as he headed up to the top rope looking, perhaps looking to finish HHH of with a Sky High Sensation. The wily veteran in HHH, however, sensed danger, so he went to the ropes closest to Doane and dived on them, causing them to buckle and Doane crotch himself on the top rope! HHH then went up top to where Doane was, as he then got him in a suplex position, looking for a Superplex. Doane, however, now sensed danger, and did everything he could to get HHH of the top rope, before raking him in the eyes and pushing him off the top rope.
Doane then waited for HHH to get up into a standing position, and once he did, Doane leapt off of the top rope and hit HHH with a Doane Nation (Flying Clothesline)! The crowd gave heat at Doane once again getting the advantage, as Doane once again smirked after knocking the veteran down. After teasing HHH and the fans by just knocking HHH down with one single right hand, Doane lifted HHH up and nailed an RK-Doane, but when he went for the cover, HHH managed to get a shoulder up! The crowd let out an enormous pop, as Doane rubs his hands through his hair, unsure of how to put HHH away. Ken waited for HHH to get up once again, as he goes for a second RK- Doane, only to be pushed off by HHH. Doane bounced off the ropes towards HHH, only to be hit with a massive Double A Spinebuster! HHH is back in it!
The next few minutes of the exciting match turned out to be somewhat of a slugfest, as the two desperately fought once again for the advantage. Triple H managed to get the advantage after nailing Doane with a high knee after Ken came off the ropes. The match then picked up in pace, as Triple H then quickly lifted Doane up and then kicked him in the gut, causing Doane to crouch down, as HHH gets him in a double underhook, looking for the Pedigree. Doane manages to spin out of it, as he then gets HHH in an RK- Doane position again, but HHH spins out of that, before tripping Doane, before going for the Figure Four Leg Lock, but Doane uses all the power in his legs to push Triple H into the turnbuckles. HHH manages to stop himself from hitting the turnbuckle, as Doane gets up and charges at HHH. HHH saw him coming though and Flapjacked Doane onto the ropes, damaging Doane’s throat! Doane backs off of the ropes, still holding his throat, turned right into a kick to the gut once again, but this time, HHH nailed the Pedigree! When HHH looked to cover Doane, none other than EDGE came charging in, and nailed his rival with the Spear! The referee had no choice but to call for the bell. |Winner by DQ: Triple H|
After the match, Edge continued to assault Triple H, nailing him with various punches to the skull. Doane then left the ring and made his way up the ramp, as Edge continued his assault, eventually busting HHH wide open. Edge then has a sick smile on his face, as he grabs two steel chairs from ringside, as the crowd sense and dread what Edge is going to do next. Edge doesn’t go for the Con Chair To straight away however, as he places one of the chairs on the mat, before lifting a bloody HHH up, and getting him in a front face lock. Edge then dragged HHH over towards the chair that he placed on the mat, before nailing HHH with his signature Elevated DDT the ‘Edgecution’ right onto the chair! The crowd let out big heat, as Edge then smirked down at the unconscious HHH, his head on an awkward angle on the chair. Edge then got the other chair that he brought into the ring, as the crowd let out ferocious heat, as Edge looks for a Con Chair To! Edge lifts the steel chair above his head, only for road agents to come out and prevent Edge from doing so. Edge smirks at the damage he has caused as the agents tend to HHH. They manage to get HHH back to his feet and two men are supporting him in helping him stand on his feet, until a malicious look forms in the eye of Edge, who runs back into the ring, and hits HHH with another Spear! The road agents order Edge to get out, as he does albeit reluctantly, big smirk on his face.

‘MacMillitant’ hits to a nice pop, as the General Manager of Smackdown Theodore Long comes out with a contract in his hand, which clearly says Smackdown up the top. Teddy places the contract on the long table that is set up (like the one when Batista had to choose whether to stay on Raw or go to Smackdown before Wrestlemania 21), as he then stands behind the table. ‘Here Comes the Money’ then hits to another good pop although some heat is heard as he is Raw’s General Manager, as Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring with the Raw contract in hand. Shane nods to Teddy Long, as he places the Raw contract on the table, as the two General Managers await the three Superstars. ‘This Fire Burns’ hits to huge heat, as Raw’s WWE Champion CM Punk comes out, ready for Mr. Kennedy’s announcement of who he will face at Wrestlemania. Punk has an angry expression on his face, most likely because of what Kennedy did to him on Raw after Punk tried to ambush Kennedy during his main event match with Jeff Hardy on Raw. They note that Kennedy was in the Money in the Bank Ladder match last year at Wrestlemania 24, where Punk won the briefcase and then went on to win the WWE Title that he holds today. ‘My Time is Now’ then hits to a very similar reaction to CM Punk’s although there is a pop in scattered sections from the crowd (most likely the female contingent), as Smackdown’s World Heavyweight Champion John Cena makes his way out, with a huge smile on his face after defeating Batista at the Rumble. The announcers highlight the huge history over the past six months, with Cena winning that World Title from Mr. Kennedy at No Mercy in a Ladder Match after chasing Kennedy’s title for about 2 months. Cole notes that this was a very personal feud after Cena attacked Ken’s dad, which may make Kennedy pick John Cena, although he did have about 3 months to regain the title but was unsuccessful in doing so.
Punk and Cena wait in the ring, before ‘Turn Up the Trouble’ hits to an immense pop from the fans, as Mr. Kennedy makes his way to the ring, huge smile on his face, even though he has a huge decision ahead of him. Kennedy gets in the ring and shares a long, hateful stare with John Cena, before turning his head and doing the same with Punk. Kennedy then does his usual announcing thing, as he then gets a mic from ringside. Kennedy talks about his win at the Rumble like he did on Raw, doing something that neither Punk nor Cena have done. Kennedy said that he would go right down to business, saying that both Smackdown and Raw have been his home in the past, so he knows what it is like to be on either brand. He talks about his history with Cena over the past 6 months, and how he would love to take that World Heavyweight Championship off of him. He then turns to Punk, talking about what happened at Raw, trying to jump him but wasn’t successful. Kennedy then says that he had been thinking all week about who he would choose to face at Wrestlemania, and Kennedy then said that he wanted a ‘change of scenery’, before SIGNING THE MONDAY NIGHT RAW CONTRACT! Shane has a huge smile on his face as Theodore looks a little down, as Cena has a smile on his face in the corner as he knows that he will not have to defend his title against Mr. Kennedy at Wrestlemania XXV. Punk has a shocked and angry expression on his face, as Kennedy smirks in his direction.
The WWE Champion approaches his Number 1 Contender, as the two go face to face. Theodore Long and John Cena leave the ring, as Shane approaches the two, as Punk and Kennedy begin to bad mouth each other. McMahon attempts to get in the middle of the two to make sure there is no physical contact between the two, as they then separate. Punk tries to do the same thing that he did on Raw, however, and attack Kennedy behind his back by hitting him with a cheap shot, but Kennedy ducks under Punk’s attempted sucker punch, by kicking him in the gut and nailing the Steamroller (Standing Green Bay Plunge)! The crowd let out a huge pop as Kennedy has gotten the better of the WWE Champion once again, as Kennedy lifts up the WWE Title that could be his come Wrestlemania. Kennedy then turns back to Punk as the Raw General Manager Shane O Mac leaves the ring, as the new Raw Superstar lifts Punk up. Kennedy then kicks Punk in the gut before pulling him in, and then for the second time in the week, Kennedy nails Punk with the Mic Check! The crowd let out a huge pop as Kennedy lifts up Punk’s WWE Championship again before placing it on his shoulder, as he makes his way up to the top rope. Kennedy’s signature microphone then descends from the rafters, as Kennedy then says that at Wrestlemania 25, this is what you would see, the new WWE Champion, Mr. Kennedy... KENNEDY! _________________ Credit for le' sexy siggeh: RTheory/Rock |

| Friday Night Smackdown Smackdown starts off with the normal video package, recapping the major events that happened last week on Smackdown, where Mr. Kennedy decided to go over to Raw to have the opportunity to face CM Punk for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania XXV. The video package starts off with what happened in the main event, where the youngster and United States Champion Ken Doane faced off against Triple H in a non- title match. It shows how early on in the match, Doane was surprisingly controlling the majority of the match, and on several occasions almost put the veteran Triple H away. It then shows HHH getting the advantage back, and then after a series of reversals, nails an Arn Anderson Spinebuster, leading up to the Pedigree. After what was the third attempt in the match, Trips finally managed to hit the Pedigree, but he was denied a pinfall victory after his fierce rival in Edge came charging out and gave HHH the victory through a disqualification. The video then shows what happened after the match where Edge destroyed the living shit out of HHH, with the aid of a steel chair. It then cuts to what has been the most talked about segment in quite a long time, where Mr. Kennedy made the choice as to who he would face at Wrestlemania for a World Championship, either World Heavyweight Champion John Cena or WWE Champion CM Punk. Kennedy then ran down his potential opponents before reasoning why he made this choice, before deciding that at Wrestlemania 25, Mr. Kennedy would face CM Punk for the WWE Championship, officially defecting to Raw! It then shows the aftermath of the Contract Signing, where Punk tried to ambush Kennedy, but it backfired and ended up getting the Mic Check for his troubles.
The opening video recap package then finishes, and after the usual opening video containing the Smackdown Superstars, we are not greeted by the Smackdown announcers, but instead by Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long! Teddy greets the fans with a traditional ‘Holla’, before he goes on to talk about his disappointment of last week where Mr. Kennedy decided that he would leave Smackdown for Raw to face CM Punk for the WWE Championship at Mania. Teddy then says as a result of this, Smackdown does not have their main event World Title match for Mania, but he then said that this would all change tonight, getting the crowd excited for what is going to come later tonight. Teddy then says that by the end of the night, Smackdown WILL have their main event World Title match set for Wrestlemania 25, as in tonight’s main event, 10 men would fight it out in an Over the Top Rope Battle Royal, where the winner would go on to face the World Heavyweight Champion John Cena at the Grandest Stage of them All, Wrestlemania 25! The crowd let out an enormous pop as Teddy finishes off with a ‘You can believe dat”, before we cut out from Teddy’s office and then to the announcers, Michael Cole and Tazz. The announcers talk about how the massive main event joins already huge matches that are set for tonight’s show, including Ken Doane up against Gregory Helms where the winner would become the United States Champion and also win a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder match, and also as announced on Raw, the big inter brand match-up between Triple H and Raw’s MVP. Tazz then says that he can’t wait for the main event, and to get this show on the road!
‘2 Z Top’ hits to a pretty large amount of heat, as none other than the former WWE Tag Team Champion Lance Cade makes his way out to the ring, ready for his one on one match up against a man that he has been having a lot of trouble with in the past, Jesse Dalton. They talk about how Cade changed Festus completely, making him in the demented state that we used to only see when the bell rung to signal the beginning of the match. The announcers then talk about what happened last week with Cade as we see video footage of what happened after Jesse and Festus defeated the team of Enforcement Inc., where Cade was seen watching on the monitor and smirking.
‘Biscuits and Gravy’ hits to a rather large pop as the crowd rise to their feet, knowing that this can only mean one thing, the arrival of the lovable and very unique tag team of Jesse and Festus. Jesse and Festus come out of the curtain, Jesse attempting to control Festus, who is trying desperately to get past Jesse and get into the ring. Jesse reminds Festus that Festus will not be competing tonight, but Jesse was. Festus seems to calm down a little bit as he takes a spot at ringside, as the announcers wonder if Cade’s smirk meant anything. Cade takes a quick look at the demented freak on the outside and takes a laugh, before turning his focus back to his real opponent for tonight, Jesse.
|Match 1| |Jesse w/ Festus vs. Lance Cade|
The start of the match fares to be a pretty even contest, Lance trying to use his power to manipulate Jesse, but since he was often distracted by Festus by doing sill antics, Jesse always had time to recover and sometime even get the advantage over Jesse. At the five minute mark of the match, Cade nailed Jesse with a nasty lariat, biding himself enough time to once again tease Festus, this time putting his head in between the ropes and telling Festus to hit him, Festus knowing that if he does, he will get his partner Jesse disqualified. Cade then smiles and turns around, but when he faces Jesse, he is knocked down with a beautifully placed Dropkick, square on the chest of Cade! The crowd pops as Jesse once again takes control in the match, this time hopefully maintaining his advantage.
Jesse continued to work over Cade and his back, nailing a Back Body Drop and a move much similar to the World Heavyweight Champion John Cena’s Spin- Out Powerbomb. Jesse then bounced off of the ropes and nailed Cade with a knee drop right to the face. Cade gets up holding his face after Jesse’s knee was driven right into it, before Jesse pulled him into a front face lock, and then nailed a Swinging Neckbreaker! The crowd popped as Cade once again was grounded as Jesse then decided to wait for Cade to get up this time, and once the former Tag Team Champion got up, Jesse swung him around so his back was facing Jesse, before nailed Cade with a German Suplex! The crowd popped once again, before Jesse went up to the top rope.
Once Jesse got to the top rope, he attempted to balance without any hands, and once he did, he braced himself, before going for a Leg Drop to the back of the head of Cade. However, once Jesse did leap off, Cade moved away, causing Jesse to smack his legs and ass against the canvas! The crowd gave heat as Cade once again got the advantage, as Cade quickly lifted Jesse up, only to cop a Jawbreaker! The crowd pops as Cade stumbles into the referee, before Jesse runs off the ropes, only TO BE HIT IN THE BACK WITH A LEAD PIPE BY A MASKED MAN! The crowd erupts in heat as the referee didn’t see it as he recovered from Cade running into him, and a magically recovered Cade nails the Cade Bottom (his Sitout Spinebuster move TBH)!! Cade then covers and the referee counts the three, as the masked man then gets into the ring.
|Winner: Lance Cade|The crowd are shocked as a murmur goes throughout the crowd, wondering who the masked man could be. Festus then runs into the ring and attempts to save the day for Jesse by running into the ring and attempting to get the masked man, only for Cade to attempt to take him out with a Chop Block, which Festus no sells. Festus then turns his attention back to Cade, but this proves to be the wrong decision, as the masked man then takes Festus out with a shot to the back of his head with one of the lead pipes he had with him. The masked man then throws one of the pipes over to Cade, who then starts bashing away at the leg of Festus with the lead pipe! The crowd groan in disappointment at two of their favourites being decimated, as the masked man then decides that it is time to reveal himself to the world. The masked man then takes off the mask, as it is revealed to be none other than Cade’s former partner and also a former WWE Superstar, MARK JINDRAK! The crowd immediately recognise the man that used to be associated with Kurt Angle, as Jindrak then waits for a hurt Jesse to get up, and once he does, he smacks him in the face with the lead pipe! The crowd once again start booing the shit out of Cade and Jindrak, who once again embrace in the middle of the ring, seemingly a tag team once again.
|Commercial Break|
We return from the break with a ‘Before the Break’ video package, where we see a masked man attack Jesse with a lead pipe as he bounces off of the ropes, giving Cade the win. The man and Cade then destroy both Jesse and Festus, and the masked man then shows himself to be none other than Mark Jindrak, a former partner of Cade’s. Cade and Jindrak are then shown walking backstage as soon as the video finishes, congratulating each other on destroying Jesse and Festus here tonight. As Cade and Jindrak are walking, we see Smackdown backstage interviewer and Diva Maria rushing up to them, asking them why they did that to Jesse and Festus, and asks Jindrak how it feels bring back in the WWE once again. Jindrak takes the microphone off of Maria, only answering the first question that Maria had asked him. Jindrak said that he was watching Smackdown at home one day, and was disgraced to see what the Smackdown tag team division had come to, being run by Mexican Cruiserweights, and demented freaks being their runners up. He then said that he saw what Cade did to Festus, and he thought to himself that Cade needed some help in ‘cleaning up the division’, so he decided to return and help him out. Jindrak then put all of the Smackdown tag teams on notice, as he said that what they saw before was just an example of what they will do to every single tag team on this roster, so they better watch out, as Cade and Jindrak are the next WWE Tag Team Champions. Cade and Jindrak leave the scene to a ton of heat, as we go back to the announce table.
Tazz talks about how that this team is a force to be reckoned with, as they just destroyed both members of an established tag team, and that if they did that to a monster, he wonders what they can do to the much smaller Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions. Cole talks about what a despicable act that was, and how he hopes that the new team on the block gets what is coming to them, and that they now know what Cade was smiling about last week after Jesse and Festus’ match. Cole then says that it is time to move on with the show, as he then says that he can reveal the ten superstars that will be in tonight’s main event, where the winner will face John Cena at Wrestlemania XXV for the World Heavyweight Title. Cole then reads out the names from a list of paper, and the names are in this order: Triple H (who has to face MVP before the Battle Royal), Edge, Bryan Danielson, Matt Hardy, JBL, the Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Batista, Umaga, and also a man that Teddy Long said that he wants to keep secret until the Battle Royal starts, but the only thing he said was that it was a major acquisition. Tazz then says that he is pumped for tonight, and after the break, it gets even better, as the former 12 Time World Champion Triple H takes on Monday Night Raw's Montel Vontavious Porter!
|Commercial Break|
‘I’m Comin’ hits to big heat as soon as we return from the break, as Raw’s Montel Vontavious Porter makes his way down to the ring, flanked by his Two Man Dynasty counterpart Randy Orton and also Triple H’s rival, Edge. MVP seems very confident and cocky with his two buddies next to him, knowing that he has strength in numbers for this match. Porter, Randy and Edge all hop into the ring, as MVP gets onto the top rope and poses. MVP then gets off of the top rope and bounces off the ropes, before doing his signature ‘Ballin’ taunt, getting heat from the crowd and applause from Rated RKO. MVP then looks towards the entrance ramp, where he knows that HHH will be making his entrance.
‘Time to Play the Game’ then hits to a monstrous reaction, as ‘the Game’ Triple H makes his way to the ring, water bottle in hand. HHH does his classic water spitting thing on the entrance ramp instead of on the apron, as he then begins to make his way down to the ring for his match against MVP. Triple H makes his way down the entrance ramp and claps hands with the fans in the crowd, but this turns out to be a huge mistake, as he is jumped by Edge and the Two Man Dynasty before the match can even start! The crowd let out a ton of heat, as this was what Edge, MVP and Orton must have been planning on Raw after their confrontation with Shane McMahon!
The three on one mugging on Triple H continues for quite some time, as the dickheads in the crowd begin to chant for Shawn Michaels to come to the aid of HHH, but HBK is nowhere in sight. Trips continues to get mugged as his back is continuously rammed up against the security guard rail, as MVP then goes for his Running Boot up against the guard rail, but it is blocked by the ever resilient HHH, who begins to make a comeback of sorts. The comeback is unsuccessful, however, as the numbers game proves way too much for the King of Kings. Edge is then about to hit a Spear on Triple H, before Teddy Long makes his way onto the big screen, saying that if Edge lays a hand on HHH, he will be thrown out of the Battle Royal later tonight! Edge grits his teeth and is pissed off, but in the background, MVP is heard screaming that he can’t do anything to MVP and Randy, as he isn’t their boss. Long quickly cuts off MVP before he and Orton can go back to work on HHH, saying that he just got off the phone with Raw GM Shane McMahon, who said that if you touch him once more, you will neither get a WWE Championship opportunity! Orton and MVP are pissed off as Edge and the Two Man Dynasty leave through the curtain, happy for what they just did to Triple H. Cole and Tazz talk about what we just saw, and Tazz said they must have done this to soften up Triple H for the Battle Royal later tonight, so Edge can get slightly better chances at winning the match and heading to Wrestlemania to face John Cena for the World Heavyweight Title.

When we return from the break, ‘In the Middle of it Now’ is playing over the speakers, as we see Curt Hawkins warming up in the ring, ready for his upcoming match. Zack Ryder has taken his spot on the outside of the ring, where he will surely look to make a difference in this match to get his tag team partner the win. Hawkins looks prepared for this upcoming match, as we then see a replay of Evan Bourne’s debut last week, who is Hawkins’ opponent tonight. It shows how Bourne dominated the majority of the match against the Miz, before putting him away with a Shooting Star Press off of the top rope, which Cole called the ‘Air Bourne’.
‘Axeman’ then hits over the loudspeakers to a surprisingly loud pop from the crowd, as the ever exciting Evan Bourne makes his way out to the ring for the second match in his career. An enthusiastic Bourne slaps hands with the fans in the first row down near the entrance ramp, as Bourne has seemed to already gotten over with the crowd with his incredible debut performance last week. Bourne then gets into the ring and then poses on the top rope, before hopping down and he casts his eye on his opponent tonight in Hawkins.
|Match 2| |Evan Bourne vs. Curt Hawkins w/ Zack Ryder|
The match starts off different to last week, where Bourne surprised the Miz in the early going, as Hawkins attempted to keep the high flying Cruiserweight grounded at the start of the match, but he found it to be no easy task. Bourne used his incredible speed to dodge most of Hawkins’ moves and nailing his own, such as a Springboard Crossbody and a Tornado DDT from the second rope. Bourne then went for a quick Air Bourne to finish off the match, only for Hawkins to get up quicker than expected from the Tornado DDT and knock the ropes, causing Bourne to crotch himself on the top rope. Hawkins then throws Bourne off of the top rope and begins smirking, but once he turns around, just like last week against the Miz, Bourne hit Hawkins with a Kip Up Hurricanrana!
The crowd pops for the exciting youngster taking control in the match quite loudly, as Bourne seems to be winning over the crowd with his pace and fascinating moves. Bourne then waits for Hawkins to get up, and once he does, he runs at him, going for a Head scissors Takedown, only for Hawkins to catch him in a Tombstone Piledriver position. Bourne senses danger, however, so he flips Hawkins through into a Victory Roll cover, getting a long two count. A shocked Hawkins quickly gets up and charges at Bourne, only for Bourne to duck under him and Hawkins bounce off of the ropes. Once Hawkins does get back to Bourne, he is nailed with a Springboard Dropkick from the other side from Bourne, who had bounced off the ropes opposite. Bourne then quickly dragged Hawkins over to the corner and went to the top rope, before this time connecting with the Air Bourne! The crowd pops at the scintillating display of high flying action, before climbing over for the cover and getting the win!
|Winner: Evan Bourne|
Evan is once again ecstatic after going over one of the established Superstars on the Smackdown roster, as Ryder sneakily enters the ring and attempts to show his partner who it is done, by attacking Bourne from behind. The crowd scream for Bourne to turn around as Ryder pounces at Bourne, only for Bourne to duck under an attempted Clothesline by Ryder. Bourne then waits for Ryder to run around, as Bourne then nails Zack with a huge and perfectly placed Hurricanrana! The momentum sends Zack flying out of the ring, leaving Bourne in the ring only with an incapacitated Hawkins, as Bourne can now comfortably celebrate his victory.
|Commercial Break|
Once again we are backstage, this time with the beautiful Eve Torres standing by, getting ready for her first interview of the night. Torres then says to interview her guest tonight, a man who we have already seen tonight, he is the ‘Rated R Superstar’ and former World Heavyweight Champion, Edge! The crowd give out huge heat for the man that destroyed Triple H earlier tonight, and the two men that helped him in Raw’s Randy Orton and Montel Vontavious Porter come in with him. Eve says that she has just come from Smackdown GM Teddy Long’s office, who said that Triple H will be able to compete in the Battle Royal later tonight. Eve then asks Edge how he thinks he will fare in the Battle Royal later tonight with all of Smackdown’s other top stars, before the microphone is taken off of her by MVP. Porter then says that that was a stupid question to ask, as she knows, Theodore Long knows and the whole of the Smackdown roster knows that Edge is better than all of them. Porter then says that what they did to Triple H was just an example, and also what they did to Shawn Michaels on Raw was an example, and that they proved to Triple H and to Shawn Michaels that the Dynasty is BETTER THAN YOU! The Dynasty then leave the scene with grins on their faces, as the camera fades away to ringside, where we once again to Michael Cole and Tazz, who talk about the cockiness of the Dynasty.
As Smackdown hits the one and a quarter hour mark, we go backstage to the locker room of Ken Doane, who is warming up before his huge match up against Gregory Helms, which is up next. The announcers talk about how this match is massive for Doane, as it could book him to his first ever Wrestlemania match, and if he wins the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at Mania, it would be a huge step in winning his first World Heavyweight Championship. We then cut to none other than Gregory Helms’ locker room, who is seen taping up his wrists before warming up much like Doane did. The announcers talk about how Helms is no stranger to being a champion, as he has held many championships in the past such as the World Tag Team Championships, and he was also the WWE Cruiserweight Champion for almost a year. It then goes to a split screen as both men go out of their locker rooms, LaRouche and Rycklon stay behind surprisingly, Doane seemingly wanting to do it on his own. Helms and Doane are then seen walking down a separate hall way, as Cole says that up next, for the United States Title and for a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder match, will be Gregory Helms facing off against the US Champion Ken Doane.
|Commercial Break|We return from the break, where a video package plays, highlighting the feud between Gregory Helm and the United States Champion Ken Doane, which started in late October of 2008, where Helms revealed that he was sick and tired of Doane hyping himself up and calling himself a ‘Natural Born Talent’, leading to the face turn of Helms. It then shows clips of the Survivor Series Elimination match with the two as team captains, where Doane and his bodyguards comes out on top against Helms and Jesse and Festus. The feud then dies down in December after Doane had qualified for the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber, as Helms was rarely seen on Smackdown. After the US Champion was unsuccessful in winning the World Championship, Helms then returned to Smackdown and the feud resumed, Helm picking up various wins against Doane in tag team matches, and also in a non title bout after a Shining Wizard. Helms was unsuccessful the next week against Doane after the United States Champion had to resort to dirty tactics. It has the pairs face off during the Rumble match, where Helms sacrificed himself by hitting Doane with a cross body, sending both men over the top rope and to the floor. It then shows the Number 1 Contender’s match from last week where helms faced Kofi Kingston, where Helms came out victorious to have the right to face Doane tonight for the WWE United States Championship, and also the opportunity to participate in the Money in the Bank Ladder match.
‘Firestorm’ then hits over the loud speakers once the video package finished to a very loud pop, as the former Superhero, World Tag Team and Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms makes his way down to the ring, hoping to add to his list of titles here tonight, and in the process book himself a spot at Wrestlemania. Helms slaps hands with the fans before he gets into the ring and doesn’t even bother to pose on the top rope, as Helms knows how important this match is to him, knowing that it is a major step towards him winning his first major World Title in the WWE.
‘Pure Control A’ then hits over the loud speakers to surprisingly a massive load of heat, as the man that came up just short against Triple H last week and the current United States Champion Ken Doane heads down to the ring, knowing that it is all or nothing in this match. The ‘Natural Born Talent’ does exactly opposite of what his opponent tonight in Helms did, as the United States Champ started bad mouthing the fans at every opportunity on his way to the ring, before he arrogantly posed on the top rope with his United States Championship. Doane then kissed his beloved title before giving it to the referee (a kiss goodbye perhaps?), as Helms and Doane then stare each other down, hoping that they will be the next one to join Rey Mysterio in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, and head into it as the United States Champion. _________________ Credit for le' sexy siggeh: RTheory/Rock |

| |Match 3| |United States Championship Match| |Money in the Bank Qualifying Match| |Gregory Helms vs. United States Champion Ken Doane|
The match starts off with both most fighting it out for the advantage, both men knowing each other’s styles so well, causing a stalemate between the two Superstars. Doane is backed into the corner only to bitch slap Helms, causing Gregory to get extremely pissed off. Helms unloaded with left and right hands to all of Doane’s body, as referee Charles Robinson has to pull Helms off of Doane. Helms then gets off and once Doane gets out of the corner, Helms hits him with an Atomic Drop, before nailing him with a Tilt a Whirl Backbreaker! The crowd pops at Helms taking control, as Helms then goes over towards the ropes. Once Doane does get up, Helms bounces off of the middle rope, going for a Springboard Crossbody much like Bourne did earlier in the night, only for Doane to nail Helms with a dropkick to the chest on his way down! The crowd immediately erupts in heat as one of the least favourite Superstars on the Smackdown Roster takes advantage in his match.
Doane then worked over the back of Helms as he slowed the match down a lot after the very fast couple of opening minutes, using various submission holds and back breakers in an attempt to wear down the Cruiserweight. Whenever Helms would look to make a comeback, the classical heel in Doane would just knock Helms down with a simple move such as a clothesline and then ferociously attack the back of Helms, draining him of all momentum. Doane then locked Helms into a Boston Crab, but after sustaining a fair bit of pain in the hold, Helms managed to get to the ropes. Doane got off at the count of 4, and he went for a Dropkick to Helms once he had gotten up, only for Helms to hold onto the ropes and Doane crashed and burned! The crowd once again pops for Helms, as he then nails Doane with a running senton to the sternum!
Helms then bounces off of the ropes once Doane gets up and looks to get back into the match by hitting Doane with a Lariat, only for Doane to duck and Helms hit the referee! Helms is in shock as the Charles Robinson crumples after the move, as Doane goes behind a shocked Helms and hits him with a sick Neckbreaker! Doane then smirks as he knows that this is a good chance to put Helms away for good and advance to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, as he then lifts the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion in history up, before going for the RK- Doane! The crowd erupts in heat knowing that Helms is in trouble if Doane connects, but Helms also senses danger, as he then reverses the tables by nailing Doane with a Back Suplex, dropping Doane right onto his upper back! The crowd pop Helms getting back into the match after the desperation Back Suplex, as the crowd now know that this may be Helms’ chance to get back into the match and defeat Doane once and for all.
Both Helms and Doane get up with the referee still down after the massive inadvertent Lariat by Helms, as Doane charges at Helms, only to be hit with a kick to the gut, and then a Snap DDT! The crowd pops at Helms once again knocking Doane down once again, as Helms then braces himself, going for the Shining Wizard, only for Doane to duck under the move, and then nail Helms with a Scoop Slam once he had gotten up. Doane then headed up to the top rope and waited for Helms to get up, most likely looking for his signature Doane- Nation Flying Clothesline. After Helms had recovered from the Slam, he got up and turned around, but when Doane went for the aerial attack, he was caught by Helms and then trapped into the legendary Crippler Crossface! The crowd erupts at the move, knowing that this may put Doane away for good, as Helms applies the pressure like crazy!
Surprisingly, the majority of the crowd begin a ‘Benoit’ chant as the announcers don’t even dare to say the name of the man that made the move famous, knowing that they are at a huge risk of getting fired (especially Cole, no one likes him). Helms applies even more pressure to the hold, as secondary referee Mickey Henson runs down the ramp and into the ring, seeing if Doane will tap. In the meantime, Charles Robinson gets up and also watches the submission carefully, as Doane stays in the submission for a full minute, before turning both he and Helms over, causing Helms’ shoulders to be on the mat! Mickey Henson sees that Helms’s shoulders are down whereas Robinson is still worried about the submission hold, not noticing that Helms’ shoulders are down! Mickey Henson counts the pin! 1...DOANE CAN’T HOLD ON ANY LONGER! ...2... DOANE TAPS OUT! ...3! Controversy occurs, as Doane taps out at the exact moment of the three!
|Winner: ???|
Doane raises his arm jubilantly, thinking that he has won the match, as the secondary referee Mickey Henson raises the arm of Doane to much heat from the crowd, but the original referee Charles Robinson raises the arm of Helms, thinking that Doane had tapped out before the three count. The two referees then had a tug of war over the United States Championship, as the Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long makes his way out and asks for the replay, and we see in slow motion that Doane had tapped out the Crossface at the exact time that Henson had counted the three. Long then said that he had thought it over and had a way to resolve this, and that was that in the result of a no contest in a title match, unfortunately for Helms, the champion retains his championship! Helms kicks the bottom rope out of anger as he didn’t get the championship and Doane acts as though he has just won the World Championship and rips his title out of the referee’s hands, as the crowd are still wondering what will happen with the spots in the Money in the Bank Ladder match. Long answers the crowd’s question, saying that since there was no distinct winner, BOTH men will advance to the Money in the Bank Ladder match! The crowd erupts into a huge mixed reaction, unhappy that Doane got both cases of what he wanted, but happy that Helms has his chance in the Money in the Bank Ladder match. Teddy then leave as the announcers discuss these recent developments, as we then go to a commercial break.
|Commercial Break|
Once we return from yet another commercial break, we have another ‘Before the Break’ video package, where we see the disputed final minutes of the Helms vs. Doane match where the winner won the United States Title and also advanced into the Money in the Bank Ladder match. It shows how Helms cleverly reversed an attempted Doane- Nation into a Crossface! It shows Doane suffering in the devastating submission hold for more than a minute, before managing to roll over, causing Helms shoulders to be down on the mat. The first referee is still carefully looking at Doane in the submission, not realising that Helms’ shoulders are on the mat, whereas the secondary referee saw Helms’ shoulders down for the three count and counted the pin. Once the three count was counted, Doane tapped out at the exact moment causing the disputed finish. It then shows Teddy Long’s announcement about both men advancing to the Money in the Bank Ladder match and Doane keeping his title as a result of a no contest. We return ‘live’ (not exactly live as it is Smackdown) where we see Doane celebrating backstage, once again looking as though he has won the World Title. His bodyguards Rycklon and LaRouche come up to him and hoist him onto their shoulders, as they once again run into Theodore Long. Doane rudely asks what the Smackdown GM wants, as Long says that he forgot to announce that next week, as a result of the disputed finish in the United States Title match, Long had decided to give the two a warm up match for the Money in the Bank Ladder match, next week on Smackdown, for the United States Title would once again be Gregory Helms challenging Doane, but this match would be a Ladder match! The crowd erupts into a huge pop, as the bodyguards place Doane down as Long walks off, as the three men are extremely pissed off at what they just heard.
After we see this, the camera cuts to the locker room of the Reformed Cabinet, consisting of only JBL and the “Hired Help” the Big Show. Big Show begins to get annoyed as JBL delivers the promo goodness that he can only deliver, talking about how tonight, JBL will win the 10 man Battle Royal tonight (to which Big Show looks annoyed to in the background), go on to face that ‘no good punk’ Cena (despite both being heels) and then going on to once again win the World Championship at Wrestlemania 25. Big Show has a smirk on his face, as Bradshaw turns around and says that he knows, JBL will once again be the best World Champion in history, with Big Show helping him on his quest tonight by eliminating everybody else in the Battle Royal. Big Show lets out a large snort, obviously thinking that it is every man for himself and the last thing on his mind is help Bradshaw win the World Title, knowing that the World Title is the most important thing in this business. JBL looks pissed off at the Big Show seemingly not wanting to go through with the plan and win the match for himself, as the crowd pops at Big Show being defiant and disobeying JBL’s orders. JBL storms out and orders the Big Show to follow him, as Show leaves the room, ready to make his entrance for the main event. The camera then fades to the live arena, as we go to the entrance ramp.
The whole arena is silent as they await the arrival, before ‘My Time is Now’ then hits on the loud speakers to MASSIVE heat, as the World Heavyweight Champion for the past four months in John Cena makes his way down the ramp with a smirk on his face, but he doesn’t go into the ring, instead going around to the commentary table to join in the announcing of the match where the winner will face Cena at Wrestlemania 25 for the World Heavyweight Championship. Tazz greets Cena with a handshake which Cena accepts, but when Cole offers one to the World Champ, Cena just looks at the hand before sitting down on his chair. Cena says that no matter what happens tonight, whoever wins this Battle Royal will be unsuccessful at Mania, as the Champ would still be here. We then fade to a commercial break, where some entrances would be made.
|Commercial Break|
Once we return from another commercial break, sure enough Superstars had already made their entrances, them being Umaga, Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy and Bryan Danielson was the last one to make his entrance during the break, as ‘the Final Countdown’ continued to play over the speakers. Each man had taken a respective corner, Umaga looking like a savage beast and wanting to attack Kofi, whereas the current rival Hardy and Danielson stared holes through each other, waiting for the bell to ring so they could literally destroy each other. ‘Longhorn’ then played over the speakers to huge heat as the tandem of the Big Show and John Bradshaw Layfield made their way down to the ring, JBL acting as if nothing happened between the two before Cena’s entrance before the break. Cena gives his expert analysis on the two, saying that he has already ‘been there and done that’, which was defeating the Big Show at Wrestlemania 20 for the United States Title, and then defeating JBL at Wrestlemania 21 the next year to win his first major title, the WWE Championship.
‘I Walk Alone’ then hits to a massive pop, as the man that challenged John Cena for the World Championship at the Royal Rumble in Batista makes his way to the ring, knowing that this may be his last chance at once again getting a shot at Cena and his World Title. They show Cena talking at the announce table, talking about his win over Batista two weeks ago at the Royal Rumble, once again saying that he has proved he can beat this man and will retain his title at Wrestlemania if Batista is the winner of the Battle Royal tonight. Batista does his traditional ‘Machine Gun’ pyro to a pop from the fans as he then makes his way into the ring, all of the six men in the ring staring him down as JBL stares daggers through him, as the announcers highlight their previous rivalry six months ago.
‘Metalingus’ then hits over the loud speakers to massive heat, as one third of the men that destroyed Triple H earlier tonight in Edge makes his way into the ring, knowing how important this match is if he is to become the World Heavyweight Champion once again. Cena makes his expert analysis once again, this time on Edge, talking about their rivalry throughout all of 2006, where Cena defeated him in 1 on 1 matches, Tag Team matches, Special Referee matches, Tables, Ladder and Chairs matches and also a Steel Cage match.
The arena goes silent once more as the camera pans around the arena, before for the second time in the night, ‘Time to Play the Game’ hits to a MASSIVE pop, as a seemingly recovered Triple H makes his way to the ring, not doing his signature entrance as he is intent on getting his hands on Edge tonight. Cena talks about how in 2006, Cena was successful over HHH on all occasions, including at Wrestlemania 22 and also at Backlash, where he defeated both HHH and Edge in a Triple Threat match to successfully retain his WWE Championship. Triple H gets into the ring and stares right into the eyes of Edge, who quickly retreats and slides under the bottom rope and outside of the ring.
Once Triple H gets into the ring, the nine planned Superstars are in the ring, as the crowd knows that it is time for the arrival of Theodore Long’s mystery Superstar. Long then appears on the titantron, saying that it is now time to reveal who he has stolen from right onto Raw’s nose, getting back at them for getting Mr. Kennedy last week. Long then says he has looked into this Superstars contract, and found out that it had expired whilst he was out with injury. Long then says that this man is a veteran of this business, a former World Champion and also a former Smackdown Superstar. Long then says that Cena better watch out if this man wins the Battle Royal tonight, as you will found he is very hard to beat at Wrestlemania.
The camera then cuts away from Teddy’s office as we see Cena’s shocked expression, as the crowd erupts into a huge pop, as several people in the ring look very worried, knowing who it is. The crowd erupts once Teddy says that he is very hard to beat at Wrestlemania, before ‘Rollin’ hits to a immense pop, as THE UNDERTAKER makes his way out of the curtain and down on his bike as if nothing happened, as the camera cuts to a shocked Cena, obviously surprised more so than everyone else, unsure of how he will prepare for the Undertaker if he does win tonight in the Battle Royal. Edge is still on the outside as the camera then cuts to him, as the announcers talk about Edge’s and the Undertaker’s rivalry stemming from the end of 2007 and throughout the first six months of 2008, including the last Wrestlemania’s main event, in which the Undertaker was of course successful._________________ Credit for le' sexy siggeh: RTheory/Rock |

| |Main Event| |Number 1 Contender’s Match| |Winner faces John Cena at Wrestlemania XXV for his World Heavyweight Championship| |Umaga vs. Triple H vs. the Undertaker vs. the Big Show vs. Matt Hardy vs. JBL vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Edge vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Batista|
(For the last couple of eliminations, I will write in a little bit of detail, but for the opening ones, I will just say how they were eliminated and by who, laziness tbh)
1st Elimination Kofi Kingston was eliminated after being viciously thrown over the top rope and to the floor by the ‘Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga.
2nd Elimination Umaga was eliminated by the biggest man in the match the Big Show and JBL, after Show and Umaga were brawling, and JBL helped out and eliminated Umaga.
3rd Elimination Straight after eliminating Umaga, the Big Show went right to where Matt Hardy and Bryan Danielson were brawling, as he shoved Danielson away and attempted to eliminate Hardy, but the resilient Matt held on. The Big Show got extremely annoyed and gave Matt a Chokeslam, before out of nowhere, JBL NAILED SHOW WITH A CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL, sending him over the top rope and to the floor! The crowd give heat at JBL getting one over the Big Show, as the Reformed Cabinet looks to be over!
4th Elimination A very pissed off Big Show got up off of the mats, shocked that the man that he had partnered with for the last six months eliminated him, dashing his hoped of becoming World Champion again. JBL smiled at the Big Show but made the ultimate mistake by turning away, as Show then got into the ring, and nailed JBL with a Big Boot! The crowd popped at Show pulverising JBL, as he then lifted him up like a rag doll and threw him over the top rope and to the floor! Once JBL had been eliminated, Big Show got out of the ring, before lifting Bradshaw up, only to get a Low Blow! JBL then rammed the head of Show into the steel steps, but before he could recover, he ran to the back.
5th Elimination With 6 men left in the ring, all took off in pairs, Hardy back with Danielson, Triple H with Edge and the Undertaker with Batista. Danielson and Hardy was the key focus at this point, Danielson on so many occasions almost eliminating Hardy. However, at the 15 minute mark of what had been a very exciting match, Danielson went for a Butterfly Suplex right near the ropes, only for an aware Hardy to back drop Danielson, all the way over the top and to the floor.
6th Elimination Right after being eliminated by his furious rival in Hardy, Danielson began destroying everything in sight, slapping the protective mats and kicking the steel steps. On the other side of the ring 2 minutes after Danielson had been eliminated (he was still outside the ring), Edge went for a Spear to HHH, only to be hit with a Double A Spinebuster. Hardy then got up and went to HHH, but an aware HHH caught him with a stiff right hand. HHH then whipped Hardy towards the ropes, and Hardy went over the top rope! DANIELSON HAD PULLED THE ROPE DOWN! The crowd gave tremendous heat, as Danielson then locked Hardy in the Cattle Mutilation on the outside!
7th Elimination Back in the ring, arguably Smackdown’s four biggest Superstars excluding John Cena were in the ring, knowing that the winner would face the World Champion at Wrestlemania XXV. Triple H went back to Edge after demolishing each other for pretty much the whole match, once again leaving Undertaker and Batista, as after the AA Spinebuster to Edge, HHH lifted Edge up after the Hardy elimination and went for a Pedigree, only for the crowd to burst out into tremendous heat, as the Two Man Dynasty are shown running down the ramp (Danielson and Hardy have gone by this stage)! HHH doesn’t see this, however, so when he goes for the Pedigree, he is ambushed from behind by Orton and MVP. Orton and MVP then throw HHH over the top rope, eliminating him and destroying his chances of becoming a Thirteen Time World Champion!
8th Elimination The Two Man Dynasty then escape through the crowd, and once HHH recovers; he gets up and runs into the crowd in pursuit of his former protégé and his partner. This leaves Edge, Undertaker and Batista, a remake of the Armageddon 2007 main event for the World Heavyweight Championship. After the elimination of Triple H, Edge has a big, silly grin on his face, as he lets Undertaker and Batista battle it out. What Edge doesn’t see is that a camera man is entering the ring, before he taps him on the shoulder. Edge turns around, right into a Superkick to the chin, knocking him over the top rope and to the floor. The crowd gives a massive pop, as the supposed camera man takes off his disguise, AND REVEALS HIMSELF TO BE SHAWN MICHAELS! HE WAS HERE ALL ALONG!
9th and Final Elimination It came down to this, the two men who had so many matches throughout 2007 would go at it to have the right to face John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship. Batista and the Undertaker had fought at Wrestlemania 23, Backlash in a Last Man Standing Match, a Steel Cage match on Smackdown, a Special Referee match at Cyber Sunday, a Hell in a Cell match at Survivor Series, a Triple Threat match at Armageddon, and were also in Smackdown’s Elimination Chamber at the February No Way Out. The two traded blows with the crowd popping for both men, before Batista went for a Clothesline, only to be ducked under, picked up and then nailed with a Snake Eyes. Undertaker then hit Tista with a Big Boot, sending Batista over the top rope, but he held onto the apron. Batista tried desperately to get past Taker and into the ring, only to be giving the hand around the throat, and then CHOKESLAMMED OFF OF THE APRON AND TO THE OUTSIDE! UNDERTAKER IS GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA!
|Winner and facing John Cena at Wrestlemania for his World Title: the Undertaker|
The crowd erupts as Smackdown’s main event is now somewhat of a dream match between the Undertaker and John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship. Cena removes his headset and then gets up from his seat, knowing that a massive task lies ahead of him at Wrestlemania when he defends his title against what could be his biggest challenge yet. The crowd seem to be looking at something else, however, which the cameras aren’t showing us. The camera then quickly turns to the outside of the ring as the Cena and Undertaker stare down continues, but we see that there are medics rushing down the entrance ramp and towards where Batista was eliminated, and we see that Batista has grasped his left shoulder. We then go to a replay but showing the side of the ring where Batista was eliminated, and after he was Chokeslammed off of the apron, he instantly grasped his shoulder, knowing that something was wrong. Not wanting to break kayfabe on screen, Undertaker doesn’t check on Batista although he does look worried, before the medics lift Batista up, run a few little tests before aiding him to the back. Back to the Undertaker and Cena stare down, Cena raises his World Title which could be Taker’s come Wrestlemania to heat from the crowd, as the show then fades to black, Cena raising his World Title as Taker stares him down._________________ Credit for le' sexy siggeh: RTheory/Rock |
